EPL Week 1 Other Games

He did well at Brighton, I just think he was unlucky at Chelsea.

Did well to a point, only for his successor to outshine him. Now look what he's gone on to do at Marseille. Besides any manager can have a period of "doing well". I remember Hughton doing well there too, I remember Lambert doing well at Wolves, Adkins doing well at Southampton & Mckenna doing well at Ipswich. None of them are remotely close to being a top level manager.

& he wasn't unlucky at all......Maresca has come in and shown him what was needed to be done and Maresca himself isn't all that. His tenure at Chelsea just exposed him as a fraud and his time at West Ham has been another failure. Nice guy though.

Maresca has certainly done a better job, but he also inherited a different squad, with significant investment behind him.

Also, let’s not forget that Potter wasn’t the only one who struggled. Two managers followed him and failed which points to a deeper structural issue.

Significant investment behind him? Fuck me, how unlucky for any manager. He couldn't manage the squad just like he can't at West Ham, it's nothing to do with being unlucky.

& I wouldn't really class Lampard as a manager seeing as they got him in as a caretaker and Poch did infinitely better.

But he still got sacked.

Hyperbole, it's not like they got relegated.

Aye, neither did Hodgson or Souness.

Fun fact, Hodge had a better record in his 31 games at Liverpool then Potter did his 31 games at Chelsea......now go look at the squads both teams had and tell me it's hyperbole.

His record for a top 6 club with over 10 games managed is possibly the worst in PL history.

Potter is shit. Did ok at Brighton but every manager they've had since undermines that. He's been abject since. He clearly doesn't have the charisma to lead a really big club.

Lovely goal by Cherki too. City obviously nowhere near their best and Wolves got in behind a lot but still think City are the team to beat this season.

End of the day, you can only beat whats in front of you, and city were veeeeeeeeeeeery comfortable and we weren't. Hopefully our game was a blip, as was theirs

Thought City looked a bit unconvincing until they scored the first goal. Think their 3 first shots went in or something.
A shit GK is always a good thing to face kan the opening fixture.
