anyone catch the grand final?i know my beloved hawks beat the cats what was the game kile thou etc stuck on plane home so not seen it yet
Pretty close til three quarter time (17 points), then Hawthorn ran away with it a bit.

Some Geelong fans in the crowd were already wearing their 'back-to-back' t-shirts.

Haha. Wankers.

It was a superb game of footy. The Cats should have had it won by half-time, but some qoeful finishing and decisions when they entered the forward 50 let them down.

I thought Xavier Ellis was outstanding, as was Ablett.

absolutely shattered.

We only have ourselves to blame really, We could have been 5 goals up at HT had we taken our chances. You could see the morale go down every time we missed a easy shot.

Sam Mitchell best watch himself next season, he will be a marked man after his cheap shots on Ablett.

Geelong will be back better than ever next season, wait till we unleash big Tommy Hawkins on everyone. He is going to get super fit this pre season hopefully, its the only thing holding him back.

Ive heard whispers that the Cats may make a play for Ryan O'Keefe from Sydney too. He would be a superb addition to our forward line if we could get him without giving up much other than our first round draft pick.

Exactly. You can blame Mooney and Ottens for that. Ottens choosing not to handball that time was a fucking joke.

I saw him play for Melbourne Grammar a couple of years back, he looked decent. Tom(a) Hawkins also played for them,

They were playing scotch, and scotch had these 2 abos, they were in year 10 if Im not mistaken, and they ran the show.

They were brilliant. One of them I found out much later on was Cyril Rioli.

i love rioli!hes defo a star of the future cant remember who his uncle played for ? saw rioloi score one of the goals of the year think it was against magpies!

Both of Rioli's uncles played AFL 😉

Michael Long played for Essendon (he was a gun), and Maurice Rioli played for Richmond (also a gun)

Young Cyril is from bloody good stock.

The other Aboriginal player that played for Scotch would have been Nathan Djerkurra, now at Geelong. I expect him to get a few games next year. He's quick, hard at the ball, and build like a little tank

The goal was against Richmond, the same team one of his uncles played for (Maurice Rioli). Michael Long is also an uncle (on his mothers side I think) and he played for Essendon. Both of them brilliant on their day.

whoops !my mistake yeah i was at that game!anyone got news on the rugby league final in oz, is it next week missed prelim finals last week surely the storm will win although the loss of smith wont help!defo the best two teams this year(hard to admit being a die hard bronco)

In all honesty.. no-one in Melbourne gives a f**k about Rugby League.

I suspect the only people who watch Melbourne Storm are people who moved here from either NSW or Queensland or are Rugby starved Kiwi's.

That time again folks.

Plenty of topics for discussion:
Cousins
O'Hailpin
NAB Cup
Hawks going back to back?
Bombers to make the 8!

Saw the intra-club footage of Cousins the other day, he is looking in good shape. Almost guarantees a sell out crowd at the 'G for the opening match of the season.

As for O'Hailpin, that kick at the end almost seemed personal. Carlton gave their drug taking little party boys 2nd chances so he might be lucky and stay on their list. Think it will come down in part to how the AFL looks at the issue.

Yeah Cousins is looking sharp. He rarely doesn't though when he's on the pitch. It remains to be seen how long those hanstrings hold up in competitive footy though. That game at the 'G is going to be a belter alright.

O'Hailpin's not good enough to cut it in the AFL anyway. He barely made it into a shite Carlton side over the last 2/3 years, he's got next to no hope now they've better players and better youngsters coming through. I don't think the whole thing was anything personal, he's just flipped, and will pay the consequences. He may never play anothe rgame of AFL footy.

I wish I was a tough as this guy. :🙂

Always look for Essendon's scores first...

Any chance for glory this season?
They will do very well to make the finals IMO.

Geelong and Hawthorn are so far ahead of everyone its not funny really. Carlton are getting better and better, and if the Doggies could get a good key forward they would be very dangerous.

They're my team mate.

We've a good chance of making the eight this year. We've got a very young list, and on last year's viewing - a new manager who wants us to play fast, exciting football. We're not gonna win anything this season, but we're primed for being right up there over the next few years with the focus we have on getting more games into our young players. We're on the up!
