This is just a quick post, but when I saw the formation the other night, and one a few weeks ago, I thought "you fucking idiot", you're just like Rafa, being meddlesome for the sake of it, over complicating things, but it worked both times. You can see that, despite looking at the opposition and working out how to nullify their threat, he also knows that we have a game plan. Rather than sending us out there and saying, "stop them" he's saying, play your game, but this is how we'll line up.
I'm loving this so far. I think we might get done by Chelsea, but fuck it, this is a step, not a stride.

It's Kenny you're thinking 'a fucking idiot'.
Oh right sorry..long live the king !
So if he lost the match, Kenny's an old fart who's past his glory days ?
If he won, he's a legend ?
Whatever happened to unconditional love and respect ?

He has that, don't be a numpty, but it's fair to look at lineups as off the wall as the one against Stoke and question it. If Rafa or Hodge had played that formation, most would have been up in arms. As it was, we still played some good football and we basically stopped their game entirely (until the last 10mins).
My point was, Rafa probably would have played that team with his prerogative being to stop the opposition, we still managed to play our game despite the changes and the unfamiliarity, so you can see where the training is starting to do it's job, pass and move is starting to take shape.
How many times did we look like strangers in Rafa's teams?
