Frimjob

I guess I can see a horses for courses idea, i.e. use him against teams that will just use a low block, and then Salah can tuck in slightly more, get closer to goal. Then, we use him instead of Salah during afcon.

Get a CB/utility and you get both different formations and better quality in depth.

Nail in the coffin for chiesa, if he wasn't already moldering in the grave.

Or does anybody think he's just a new first choice RB and that's it? Because I think that gives us some familiar problems with a new twist.
Pretty sure Bradley is the going to be the starting RB with Frimpong competing and used to give Mo. breaks*.

* I think this season was the last we see Mo. playing every minute of every game. He'll be missing for AFCON but that aside I can see him being rested far more often (cups/CL/subs).

Nothing racist here, but if those Dutch lads have a falling out amongst each other we are fucked, and then there is overall team harmony, they better mix and shag some of their other team mates and not be talking Dutchy all the time.

Also I do not doubt Frimpong talent as a footballer just wish he was not Dutch player.
You do know that not one of them will stand up to their Daddy (Virgil) and will follow his directions to the letter right?

He won't play every minute of every game either way, all slot has to decide is whether he's on the pitch for those minutes.

I think frimpong will start ahead of Bradley, but hopefully they have a battle.

@Modo Why are you so quiet? You're normally the one offering us a good thread title.

As for Frimpong, I’ve always liked the idea of him particularly the adaptability he brings. I think we do need a dynamic player to replace Trent, and while we’re undoubtedly losing a huge creative presence, Frimpong’s speed and directness could help to offset that. He also offers genuine width down the right flank, which has been lacking for quite some time. That said, I haven’t seen enough of him to know how it will work in practice, or how much coaching he’ll need to deliver what we require from that role. But what we can say is: a) it’s an exciting signing, and b) on paper, it ticks a lot of boxes. He’s well-priced, at a good age, has homegrown status, isn't a dickhead, Dutch links, and is a big admirer of the club. Hopefully, it all translates from paper to pitch.

I think many will he surprised at just quite how rapid he is. If he's not the fastest player in the league then he'll be a very close second.
They keep mentioning his horrendous finishing as if we haven't endured a decade of Robbo

He scored 30 goals for Leverkusen as a wing-back/full-back - must be not all that bad…

Also 43 assists in 4 seasons - those are prime Trent/Robbo numbers, albeit in a weaker league.

I don't like that he has hair. If we have too many players with hair, then they could all fall out over shampoos and serums.

I know you're kidding, obviously...
When I was there, whenever Dirk's name came up, there would always be a pause, people would smile, and remember what a lovely bloke he was. No-one before or since provoked quite the same response and no-one had a bad word to say about him.

I was at Alma once for work drinks. Dirk was there, absolutely plastered, and tried to convince a colleague of mine to go with him to a hotel. Her and the bouncer had to put him in a taxi and send him back home to his wife and kids.

He had a better night out then me anyway.

I cannot beleive that you guys are not worried about this complete Dutch takeover of our team, its a risk. If we are gonna go over the hill with Dutch, then for fucks sake can we at least try and get Simmons ?

Looks very good going forward. Almost like a classical winger - pace, trickery, acceleration, but what impresses most is that he finds his man when crossing/cutting back.

But, a full back in a 4?

Is it going to be a case of, if they are shit and we aren't overly concerned about their attack, Frimpong is in.

If it's a top 5 team or good champions league team, Bradley gets the nod?
