Frimjob

This guy is going to play RB once, and once only. Am sure he's a mustard mutherfucker going forward but he ain't going to be playing RB in the Premier League. No chance.

He's going to be quality, he's the footballing version of game theory. He will be such a threat, that opponents will be mostly too afraid to try and attack him too much as they know we will break down that side with Frimmers, Mo, Szob and that won't be pretty for them.

It will be interesting to see how Arne goes about having two players who could be first choice in that position. The only other place we have that dilemma really is LW, but with Jota & Nunez being crap it was easy to then move Diaz inside.

Some serious critical points from Pythagoras here:

1. According to his analysis Frimpong doesn’t have enough finesse and variety to play as a winger and that his dribbling success is generally better against weaker opposition or coming from deeper areas. In other words, the notion of Frimpong as an occasional Salah substitute might be far-fetched.

2. He doesn’t seem to track back with the same speed and intensity as running forward, he is not a Kyle Walker. He is much better at front-foot defending (i.e. interceptions and pressing) than at reading the danger in behind and he will certainly be a liability on crosses to the back post in a back 4 system in the Premier League.

His conclusion is that Frimpong can be world-class in a narrowly defined role, where he does what he does best - attack at pace and hold the width - and where his weaknesses are covered. But he doesn’t have the complete skillset of a full-back and him being an attacking player doesn’t mean he’s a winger either.

Been saying this for about 2 seasons, in that if Trent went back to playing like this it would help Salah. This season's numbers arguably suggest that isn't needed, but it feels from watching our game that this would be a game changer.

As another arugment, the way in which teams mark Salah means that Frimpong might find himself relatively unmarked down that side as players will be reluctant to leave Salah

I think Twix is a bit like a Kit-Kat. You have the multi pack in a cupboard for a snack with lunch, but nobody goes out their way to buy one when craving chocolate. Basic, mix-tier chocolate bar that you eat to feel less of a fat cunt.
