FSG.. looking to sell?

we've got a talented young manager and we have some fantastic young talents starting to hit the first team and have added to it by buying great young prospects, don't know whats the deal with all the negativity but from where im sitting the future looks bright

Agree to an extent, but we are still too light in the goalscoring department, which is exactly where we most needed to strengthen.

I'm guessing someone did the math and it made more sense to bring in a striker of great potential whilst he was still cheap as opposed to attending the more pressing need of getting another striker in. So many factors to consider. A couple of years down the road and if this German is shitting goals week in and out, we'd be calling the deal an astute piece of business and laughing at how we were all so hung up about Dempsey. But in between it can also all go wrong and we'd be watching Liverpool in the Championship. There are certain risks to take but who's to say which is right or wrong? And did Brendan prioritise the signing of Samed over Dempsey? Who knows?

But I do recall that FSG puts a premium on youth and growth potential. In this case, maybe to the detriment of the club.

I hope Rodgers does quit over this. His career is at a crucial stage. He shouldn't get the flak for any failure but it'll stick to him.

The maths?

We lost Bellamy, Kuyt, Carroll and Maxi and replaced them all with people I'd never heard of. Four top class forwards replaced with people brought to make Liverpool more profitable. At least when Arsenal do it they still aim for the CL.

I've said it millions of times and no one has really listened, but here it is again.

THESE OWNERS DO NOT AND NEVER WILL GIVE A FUCK ABOUT LFC.

We didn't exactly push Bellamy, Kuyt or Maxi out the door, did we?

They care about money, which makes them no different from any other owners, not that I can remember anyone speculating otherwise.

I've said it as well and was simply dismissed as having an irrational problem with them. Well hopefully it seems pretty rational now. Blind faith has allowed them to get this far.

.

Four top class forwards. Okay...

You mightn't give a fuck that we were only bought as an investment opportunity because we were cheap, but quit the stupid shit like this. Most football clubs are owned by people who care. This recent horrible trend for yanks to come and ruin the places isn't the norm, it isn't the norm across the globe or across history or across the UK outside of a few very big clubs.

Bingo.

And I think they've been in the business long enough to recognise that 8th place is not good a good place to be.

Rule 34, requiring football club-companies to be run essentially as non-profit organisations, with their directors serving as ‘custodians’, was in the FA handbook until the late 1990s.

Since that rule was taken out, well we are where we are. We've seen the mess that's happened. But you can't claim that all clubs are like this because they weren't even allowed to be until 10 years ago.

How long will it take them before they realise what you need to do to rise up to a place that IS good to be?

Why the fuck would you want Rodgers to quit?? Right now we need a manager like him.

Hope to God FSG sell the club as soon as possible. We have to be moter attractive to potensial buyers now then a couple of years ago.

You're missing the point, probably deliberately. The point is that most football clubs which are bought for big money are bought to make money, not by "people who care", wherever they come from.

FSG gave a loan of £30m to the club to bolster transfer funds in 2011. Apparantly this is the only money they have sunk into the club. It would appear that they would very much like to have their money back as soon as possible please.

I'm not sure they don't. And I haven't seen enough evidence to suggest otherwise.

But I'm certain keeping Adam and Carroll on the wages they were on would have made it difficult for the club to move on. Now we're at least past one hurdle.

I heard months ago that they had employed Inner Circle Sports to seek 'investment' in the club. Make of it what you will and whether its true or not cos I don't know

And, having pruned the squad and minimised the chances of scoring any goals, where is this 'move on' going to take the club? Into the top four??

We've been relegated, lads! We're no longer a Champions League club but we're paying Champions League type wages. Reducing the wage bill to a sustainable level is something the club needs to do.

Is that why Lebron James bought some shares?
