Does it really need to be said?

He costs us time and time again, he doesn't get tight to his man (who in this case was slower-than-me-ma Danny Murphy) and gets stung AGAIN. Played like he was half asleep at times too.

But yeah, he's a good right back because he's so fucking wonderful going forward.

He won us the game last week and had no help from the right winger at all tonight. He is not utter shite.

Carroll gets stick fit being 35m and a bit shit. Downing gets similar stick.

Why doesn't glenjo?
We spent a fair wedge on a fullback who can't defend when there were other fullbacks better than him

If it was Johnson's only error I'd agree Hal, but the lads cunt at defending.
At one on ones I'd rather have pepe run 20 yards to close them down.

The contrast between him and Enrique is startling. You see an attack coming down our left and your left admiring how fucking good a left back w'eve purchased. When one comes down the right you have your heart in your mouth and your waiting for the inevitable fuck up.

Yes he is. He might occasionally look a good 'player' and occasionally score a good goal, but he's a SHIT defender. There was a point in the second half where Kuyt and Henderson were covering the right flanks and that useless cunt was nowhere. His positional sense is piss poor and he gets found out time and time again by letting players drift past him when one on one in the wide areas. Reina might have fucked up and spilt it, but the shot should never have even got away.
 
Martin Kelly is a better defender, and attacks fine. He should start every game, if healthy. We should let Real Madrid have GlenJo + 10 mill for Higuain.
 
When he is on form he is, and never has been, no more than an adequate right back, but when he is on form he is good going forward, so just about justifies his selection. When he is not on the top of his game he is a less than average right back and so can't justify his selection.
We all know Kelly is a much better defender and is probably as good as Johnson going forward.

Yes he fucked up, but he kept us on the game long before the goal so I'm annoyed,but willing to let it slide

Johnson made several fuck ups today, a majority being unable to defend, and the minority being unable to cross

Agree with Oncy a bit there. Johnson was partly at fault, but that's Reina's fault for the goal. Regardless of what had happened before the goal, Reina is the main culprit for that goal.

Some of the comments in this thread are a joke and I can't be arsed addressing half of them to be honest. Fair enough saying he's suspect defensively, which he is, but calling him a useless cunt or whatever is a fucking joke.

He's really shit mate. He can't control for fuck all, he's clumsy, he's lazy, he's out of position all the time - when he is in position he doesn't close down quick enough, he can't cross a ball for toffee. He's brutal.

Enrique has mistakes in him too, by the way. We just haven't conceded from them yet.

Actually, tell a lie, he made a mistake for Sturridge's goal against us against Chelsea.

I always defend him on here against the ridiculous notion that he's "shit" etc

However, he had a shocker tonight and couldn't complain if he's dropped next weekend for the excellent Kelly.
