Collymore signed for Liverpool in June 1995, for a British record fee of £8.5 million.

He scored at a ratio of a goal every 2.5 games and created many goals in a partnership with Robbie Fowler.

He also scored two goals, including the winner, against Newcastle United at Anfield in a game that was regarded as one of the most exciting in the history of the Premier League – a game which helped end Newcastle's title challenge (which they had led by 10 points at Christmas 1995).

In 2003, it was voted by viewers of Sky Sports as the greatest sporting moment in the channel's first ten years.

Despite his controversies at the club, Collymore helped Liverpool to third place in the Premier League. After two seasons at Anfield the striker was sold to Aston Villa in 1997, for £7 million, making him Liverpool's most expensive sale and Villa's most expensive signing.

The whole of Anfield booed the cunt and his reaction to that was to mimic the Harry Enfield scouser thing of 'Calm down Calm down' to the crowd - It was very very cunty.

A buddy of mine worked in the bar at Chester racecourse. He was kind of new into football and I'd convinced him to support LFC. Anyway one day in walks Collymore, David James and few others who I can't remember. My mate was a bit star struck but really wanted to meet them so he pottered up and asked them if there was anything they wanted from the bar. Collymore was apparently a complete twat to him. Some of the others ordered drinks. When he came back with the order he asked David James if he could nab an autograph. Collymore apparently exploded with rage and told him to fuck off or he'll get him sacked!

My mate was gutted but an hour or so later David James came up to him and gave him a napkin with everyones autographs on it (bar Collymore's) and said thanks for looking after them or something. That same guy now is a chief animator for Pixar and living in California while Stan is still just a fucking cunt.

He was beyond a disgrace with the Suarez penalty against Villa, pretty much every other pundit didn't see it as a dive, regardless even if it was the way that cunt was going on you would of thought Suarez had went all Menace to Society on Guzans head.

Collymore knew damn well he would get bites on twatter after that huge trolling act, it was the perfect opportunity for him to peddle his poor old Stan act after the inevitable abuse along with giving himself some relevance.

Yep the talent was there alright. Which makes it all the more disappointing. I remember a game when he played for Leicester City right at the end of his career. He scored an absolute spectacular overhead scissor kick volley that was a thing of beauty. I can't find a clip of it but it truly was an amazing goal.
