I defended Rafa longer than most, but there's no way I'd have him back now. The fact that Roy is in over his head and needs to go pronto doesn't change the fact that it was time for Rafa to leave and, as others have said, he'd never tolerate the new set-up anyway.

Seems so weird. The only thing that stopped him being the world class manager i was told he is here at Anfield was the shit squad he inherited and lack of board support.

Benitez aside, I remember Mourinho mentioned about leaving a 'legacy' of some sort, by bringing thru more youngsters. Looking at the squad he left behind, it was evident this aspect was lacking. The buzz about Santon has fizzed out and Balotelli went for big bucks.

Oh stop gloating at the man's failure. If he'd succeeded there, would you all have been on here admitting you were wrong?
Rafa failed at Liverpool for many reasons, not all of them his own fault. I was sick to death of him by the end, but he was - and is - still a good manager. One who possibly needs to take a break from the game, but a good manager all the same.
If he does get sacked by Inter, I'd expect him to be successful with his next side. Probably a club the same size as Valencia, where expectations are a bit lower.

[/quote]I think everyone expected him to succeed Bunst. And to be fair he could still, the question i would have is can he build a new team to continue on the success i expected. He did a fantastic job at valencia with cupers team, won trophies here with houlliers squad so i thought taking over a top squad would be a blueprint for success. I also expected it to go wrong when he started to change the squad as i dont think hes a very good manager. Hes a great coach but as a manager running football at a club he is what he is a lucky chancer.

But I would never have him back now. We need a manager who unites the fans. As a club, we - board, players, manager, fans - need to pull together forward as one entity. That's the only way we are going to win the league. Rafa's appointment will immediately divide the fans.
