To say "unquestionably" is a bit strong, but Ibe has been showing promise since Klopp took over.I have some sympathy for Markovic, who was dicked around by Rodgers. If I had to choose one or the other right now I'd have to go with Ibe, who's unquestionably produced more, but I'd like to see Markovic get a chance under Klopp before any final decisions are taken.
I don't trust wingers. I really don't.Neither of them are good enough to hold down a first team place regularly yet but they both have a lot of potential. With Ibe only 19 and Markovic 21 there's plenty of scope for improvement and if they get opportunities to play in positions where they feel comfortable then there's no reason they can't get a lot better. You've got to expect inconsistency from young players as very few are spot on every week.
I'd be surprised if Klopp goes and spends a lot on wingers until he's had a chance to assess them properly. Kent ,Ojo and Wilson also come into this category of young upcoming wide/attacking players we have although they have played at a significantly lower level so far.
Even good wingers are dependent on what they have to aim at in the middle most of the time. Gone are the days of a winger on each flank crossing to the big centre forward to head in.I don't trust wingers. I really don't.
I mean I like tricky, fast paced players but more often than not they look better than they actually are.
Remember Paul Anderson and Adam Hamill?
Nabil El Zhar, Assaidi, Tom Ince etc.
I hope Ojo, Kent, Wilson etc become great wingers but history doesn't give me much hope.
Yeah me too - Surely everyone gets a clean slate under Klopp? If he still doesn't rate him after working with him then fair enough. He came with a great reputation though and warrants another crack for sure.I have some sympathy for Markovic, who was dicked around by Rodgers. If I had to choose one or the other right now I'd have to go with Ibe, who's unquestionably produced more, but I'd like to see Markovic get a chance under Klopp before any final decisions are taken.
He's not shit Mark. He's looked a kick and run merchant so far as the majority of the clips we saw of him prior to his arrival highlighted his running power. Clips of him bursting through the middle of a pitch in a league (Portugal) that afforded him the space to get away with this direct approach.Yeah ok, if he comes back and suddenly develops the subtleties of his position, like incisive passing, vision, the skill to take players on, the ability to score a few goals, etc.
He's shit.
Another one I called early. Markovic is totally unsuited to the demands of the PL. And he's shit.
