Interesting Young Players

Because they can and that's what they do.

Pep isn't really known for his trust in developing kids, this Savio lad included. He's a cheque book manager, he wants the ready made stars. Wouldn't surprise me if they're secretly working on a deal for Mbappe.
Let's say that's true, Foden and Lewis are evidence to the contrary... Look at his time barca. Girona are the ones developing the kid, Pep, will take him when he feels he has hit that level.

How does Adam Wharton's stats compare against Morton's?

Wharton is 2 years younger though.

I'll give you the next name of a fantastic talent at Salzburg - Gaoussou Diakité.

They only signed him from Mali but from what I read and heard he's going to be a world beater.

Watch this space.

Besiktas' Kılıçsoy

[article]2 - Semih Kılıçsoy (18 years, 147 days), who plays for @Besiktas, became the second youngest player to score in three consecutive Super League matches after Batuhan Karadeniz (17 years, 289 days) since the 2007/08 season. Diamond.[/article]

Another 2 goals yesterday

A lot of money for what are teenagers with very limited experience......how does a club like Molenbeek in Belgium spend 25m euros on a kid?

Just sold Claudio Echeverri to Man City? Nevermind, there's Franco Mastantuono - became the youngest goalscorer for River Plate today.

Tyler Morton places 3rd amongst U21's in European leagues when it comes to ranking the most press-resistant midfielders. Morton registers 86.9% ball retention under pressure & only sits below Zaïre-Emery [87.1%] & Gavi [87.1%].

I don't know why they didn't take to him well at Blackburn (booed him when he went back there with Hull), some of the comments by their fans on their board didn't make for pleasant reading. https://www.brfcs.com/forums/topic/36523-morton/

A kid that helped take them to a 7th place finish....now they find themselves not far off the last relegation place.

Hull fans on the other hand have clearly benefitted, playing weekly and helping a team who currently find themselves in the last play off spot after finishing 15th last season......& the fans seem to love him.

Why is he being compared with players playing in the highest division in their countries?

Well it's a dumb stat. The other two are playing in a much tougher league.
It’s not one you can take too much from no but again it’s not about putting him in the same breathe as those 2. Him being 3rd still puts him above anyone in his age group in the championship, and any other 2nd division teams in Europe plus other leagues in and around the championship.

The fact that Morton and Southampton's Flynn Downes are the only players plying their trade in Championship who feature in the Top 100 midfielders for % of ball retention under high pressure speaks volume of their ability in this aspect. Also the calculation is much more complicated than the name suggests so to brush the stat off just cos of the league they are in is rather harsh imo - esp. when pressure intensity is taken into consideration.

There are many other factors to consider too, such as mins. played (Zaïre-Emery - 2038, Morton - 1876, Gavi - 1172)
* A player is considered under pressure when he is in possession of the ball and at least one opponent player nearby him is trying to either recover the ball or limit his options. For each situation, SkillCorner determines the intensity of pressure by considering the speed of the players applying it, their distance to the player in possession and the angle of their movement. More information is available here.

Why is he being compared with players playing in the highest division in their countries?

Because they are the only other players with the same stats.
Its impressive regardless of league and team.
