Verdict on Slot?

I reckon Arne Slot has just been appointed interim manager.

As soon as the incoming manager has sorted out his departure terms with Palace/Bournemouth/Como/the Arabs/Red Bull he's on that plane to Ibiza.

So, whilst I've wilted from the 'give him the rest of season to sort this shit out' I see @tombrown & @Mamma Mia are still holding the line. Not sure where @Dreambeliever is going with 'other'

Other was too vague.

I'm not married to my vote.
If we lost the next 10 or 15 (arbitrary extreme numbers) matches in a row I'd obviously lean more toward an immediate change, I just don't think that will happen.

I expect us to get better, hopefully in time to secure a CL place and a cup challenge.

I think my vote is really saying "it's too early to decide, let's give him as much time and support as we can".

What makes you think that? I'm genuinely curious.

Hope, the balance of probabilities, the fact that we have a lot of talent and ability and experience in the squad.

There are a lot of reasons (not excuses) that have contributed to this bad spell.
Many of them will disapate or balance out over time.

I've said it elsewhere, but (Hodgson aside) I have never wanted a Liverpool manager sacked - even Souness, ffs. It's probably because I am an idealist with my head stuck in the sand, but it is what it is.

I didn’t want Souey gone nor did most of the people I we t the match with back then. I think the bigger change was Houllier ‘supporting’ Uncle Roy. That was a real mind boggler, given he was an outsider

I was livid when Roy was sacked, but I had moved to Ireland by then so it may have been different if I had been still going

The Roy I was referring to was sacked long before SCM was a twinkle in anyone's eye. In fact I think at that time even Koptalk was only a BBS

That's what I thought.

I was annoyed when he got the sack too.

Seems a bit silly now looking back that it wasn't blatantly obvious that he would go.

scm has an email service, updating posters of development? Why am I not on the mailing list?
i don’t recall any emails before or since, that’s how important sacking roy was.

unless i imagined the email but i dont think so

Well I want to offer my unreserved apologies to the forum. Last time there was a poll like this I voted Other on the basis there should be no question to answer, Slot is our manager, won the league last season and anyone who wants him gone was either hysterical, a bedwetter or a wool.

Now it's me that's the deluded fool. I could never have imagined we could implode like this but it's true there were warning signs last season end which I put down to the lads on the beach.

And then we won the first 5 games and Slot was working miracles integrating all these new players who were struggling but the champions mentality he had induced led us to all those glorious late winners.

And now. What can I say, I was wrong. We are shocking. Last night was the last straw for me and virtually everyone around me at the game. It's gone from blind support in the expectation that the crowd can fire up the players to stunned silence at the disintegration of a great side into a national laughing stock.

The job of head coach as they call it nowadays is to manage the 1st team squad. To create and nurture a team that can win games because it's a results business.

Arne Slot has blown it, he had the players who won him a title and has somehow managed to lose the dressing room. That's so obvious in the form of senior players and the loss of confidence in the new lads.

We are in danger of doing a Man Utd if we're not careful. Lose a generational manager and then go through managers and sporting directors who spend on individuals without the team ethic.

Saying you wanted him to stay in the past, and you want him gone now, doesn't mean you were wrong. There's now more information now to base a decision off.

I think it would have been wrong to sack him a month or two ago, he deserves the chance he's been given.
