No longer on the official website, removed from marketing material, soon to be removed from fifa....

It will be strange not seeing him in preseason and even stranger seeing him in another shirt in a few weeks.

I think it will prove to be the right decision but it's going to take time.... It feels like a breakup! It was him not me....Time is the best healer....There are plenty more fish (Henderson) in the sea....

It's not much of a loss from a footballing perspective given his performances last year and I think we'll be better having to not shoehorn him into the team.

I am hoping for a positive reaction from the players too. Like when Henry left Arsenal and everyone got better.

They went shite after he left.. and it took them 8 years to win something..

They were already shit when he left, they performed much better to start next season and Fabregas came to the fore.

Also you're a moron (not because of this specifically, just in general), man said it himself:

Fabregas was right about me, says Henry

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has admitted his presence in the Gunners line-up towards the end of his spell with the club sometimes proved more of a hindrance than a help.

Midfielder Cesc Fabregas recently suggested some players were inhibited playing alongside the France forward.

And Barcelona star Henry accepts that was the case.

'I agreed with them completely,' he said of Fabregas' comments.

He added in the Sunday Telegraph: 'Because of my seniority, the fact that I was captain and my habit of screaming for the ball, they would sometimes give it to me even when I was not in the best position. So in that sense it was good for the team that I moved on.'

And Henry admits he cannot wait to eclipse Michel Platini in the record books.

Henry's goal in France's 6-0 win over the Faroe Islands on Saturday pulled him level on 41 goals with Platini whose record haul for Les Bleus came in 72 games.

Henry has taken 95 matches to accumulate his goals but is already looking forward to breaking the record - with his first chance coming on Wednesday against Lithuania at Nantes.

Henry told L'Equipe: 'It will be amazing to overtake a player like Platini. For the time being, I am equal to him, so there is therefore another step to take, for me and for the team in general. We will try to do it against Lithuania.'

Henry does not mind if the goal comes against Lithuania or against more fabled opponents.
He said: 'Whatever context I do it in (break Platini's record), it will be a pleasure. You can always say, 'yes, it's the Faroes, it's easy'. But their last match showed it is not.'

The Faroes had been unlucky to lose 2-1 to World Cup winners Italy in their previous home qualifier.

Barcelona forward Henry, 30, believes consistency is the key attribute for aspiring record-breakers.

He said: 'What is important is being consistent. And it turns out that when you are consistent, you end up breaking records. You have to be there all the time.'

They did go pants.. but they managed to make a champions league final in 2006.. something of which they have never been able to do since he left.. only recently they started winning trophies again..

Hope not.
Time to move on.
He won't be replaced but no point in having a half melted replica either.
No ways we'll see him in the Premier league again.

Dunno about never being in the prem again. Giggs played a valuable role way beyond Gerrard's current age. If someone managed to get the best out of him as an impact sub etc, he's still way better than half of the shit playing in the prem at the moment. It's whether Gerrard would be happy doing that or not.

He'll be back and I'll be delighted when he does. Good luck to him in MLS. I might even make an effort to watch it.

May God have mercy on your soul.

Seriously though it's not nearly as bad as some make it out to be. Especially the games between rivals and/or the higher level teams in the league.

That said I still hardly watch MLS and it's on national television every other night here.

I'll deffo watch it - Or at least follow how he does. Much like I do with Suarez at Barca. I just love them as players - They both gave their all for the club so I'll happily watch how they do. Besides Gerrard will be back for sure.

I don't think Gerrard will be back as a player, nor would I like him to.

I will watch some of his matches in the MLS.

I dunno which is sadder - Stevie gone or the fact that he's now under the leadership of Robbie Keane whom he used to captain.

How the mighty have fallen.
