He was a really terrific footballer. Great range of passing, fantastic set piece taker and a good attitude.
He was ruined by injuries. I really loved watching him play. Like an Aldi Alonso.
Lampard was a scoring machine though. Don't remember that Redknapp scored too many goals.Like a lightweight Frank Lampard.
He scored quite a few belters, though.Lampard was a scoring machine though. Don't remember that Redknapp scored too many goals.

Well, I know his injury lead to Gerrard breaking through. You do know he suffered loads of injuries? And a few serious ones at that.
I thought he was an excellent player when he was fit. Such a shame injuries hampered him so much.
He had good passing range but it was hit and miss, he was powder puff and not very industrious (plus he broke easily) and he had alot of games that would pass him by. He did well alongside Hamann but it was a partnership we didn't see enough because of his injury record. Potentially he could have been very good but we'll never really know just how good because his development was completely hindered.
His partnership with Barnes and then Ince was one of the reasons we used to get cut open so easily by teams. None of them had any discipline, we tried just about everyone in that holding role but it didn't work - Ince, Redknapp, Thomas and even Harkness. The criminal thing was we actually had a defensive midfielder who we persisted with destroying the career of at right wing back, in McAteer.
It was only when we started using Carragher there and then Hamann, that we started to get our shit together.
McAteer was a winger
I've told this story a hundred times on here, but it's always made me laugh.
Listening to the Radio City phone in one Saturday evening after the game, this guy rings in to offer his thoughts on Jamie Redknapp. So he comes on air and says, "you know what Saint, I was sat in the Kop today watching that Jamie Redknapp, and I kept thinking to myself, he must have a fucking massive cock to be shagging that Louise".
I loved Redknapp, could never figure out why he didn't get more game time for England. He scored some sensational goals and was a superb passer of the ball, just got injured too often.
The two moments I remember him best for were the miss the cup final against Utd in 96 and the free kick to beat the champions Blackburn with the last kick in 95 just as news came through that Utd drew with West ham to hand them the title.
Never mind the fact I had a massive crush on his mrs
HahahaOne can only presume his injuries were taken as evidence that he was a bad person in his previous life, so Rob Lee took his place.
Well duh...Well he is English so by your definition Modo, yes he was clearly overrated.
