January transfer window - last week activity

So looks like Slot will strangle the life out of our best 14

Which will become 13 …. 12 …

Lovely we’ve got a new CB on the way to replace Ibou in the summer but seriously, no loan or anything to cover RB when our Head Coach refuses to play our last remaining specialist vs our standout CM

what do we reckon for the summer then? wharton, jacquet and a winger. we maybe lose salah. are we happy with that?

1 winger, CB and a DM.

I wouldn't be opposed to a RB because Bradley can't be trusted to stay fit, and from can be a RW and RB.

If Salah goes then maybe 2 wingers

Jacquet, Adam Wharton, and that Diomande dude at Leipzig. Pretty much all set for the next 5 years if we do that.

Personally I'd let Mac Allister go this summer btw. Good player but I think we need more of a physical presence, and he'd be better off in a slower league too.

So it seems we struggle on with the squad as is and hope that Slot can learn to distribute the load a lot better than to date.

All the optimism will go to shit if we have a couple more breakdown to overload (Szobo, Gravy,Wirtz)

Its world cup year. People are going to manage their fitness accordingly with that in mind.

Foolish to be bare bones

i would’ve argued strongly against macallister leaving at the end of last season but on current form it would be way less of a blow.

i definitely think we’ll do other bits to pad the squad in the right places too

yea seems fair after the season bradley and frimpong have made unless we want to keep depleting our midfield for the right back cover. i’d love a new stevie g to force his way in from right back, that’d be the dream.

i still have no idea how isak comes into things to actually say what we need in terms of forwards

Easy. Isak is the bench option.

The young CB from Nantes that Chelsea tried to sign rejected them. Maybe young players are starting to see the shitshow happening at Blueco

Another £450m needed because there's no prospect of a prospect getting a look in.

We need to do a City and spend £50m twice in every position.

Break another transfer record or two while we're at it.

Job done.

Isak or Ekitike can just play from the left. Seems pretty straightforward to me tbh.

Hard to plan for a summer when we don't know who the manager is, and we're still none the wiser whether we're going to become a club that 4-2-2-2, or some variant of a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1.

In terms of outgoings, we should be open to offers for Salah, Gakpo, Endo, Cheisa and Jones (if not signing). Konate will need to be replaced if he doesn't sign on. If Slot stays, I think it will be another big summer. If a new manager comes in, then the club may want to see them make more use of the squad players and maintain a sense of stability. But who knows really. What I do know is that it's another year of transition, no matter what
