To me, it is not about press conferences, what managers say or do not say. People like Dreamy assume that when I am being critical of Slot, I do not like him or I am not grateful for what he did.
I am incredibly grateful to Slot for giving me last season. Actually, I am highly thankful to all of our managers for the highs they gave me. Hodgson is a notable exception. To me, there are two categories of managers - good ones and great ones. I am not bothering to categorize Hodgson or managers belonging to that class.
Good managers walk into an environment favorable to them, add to that, and create a perfect storm and ride that wave. Rodgers is a good manager. Everyone writes him off because he couldn't recreate that title challenge. But he contributed to that. He was pivotal to assembling that attack and tactics. I was not in a good spot in my life, but those games against Arsenal, City, and Everton made me forget my troubles. I will forever be grateful to him because of that. When the environment he succeeded did not exist, he collapsed. Great managers bend the environment and create success through tactics and sheer force of personality. In my life, I have seen two: Klopp and Champions League Rafa.
Slot contributed to our PL win, no doubt about it. He walked into an environment, leveraged it, contributed to it, and we won it. He deserves all the praise for that. But we are not in that spot anymore. The opposition has figured out our weaknesses. Players are either different or older. Is he capable of delivering success in this environment? I am pessimistic about that.
But if he leaves, and if I am lucky enough to meet him, I will thank him wholeheartedly for last season. Just like I prefer to remember Rodgers for the assault on the PL, Rafa for our CL nights, and King Kenny for giving us hope back after the Hodgson era.

I can’t say I’m not concerned. To his credit, Slot kind of took the blame in the press-conference saying that the problem was the game plan rather than the players’ effort - but with each loss the level of trust in the manager’s ability to find the winning game plan will dwindle.
I think this international break is the final chance for both the manager and the players to take a good look in the mirror and figure out how to attack the rest of the season, now that the league title defence is over. If they don’t figure out something soon, Slot will be gone by Christmas.
