Beyond that, the fans deserve to see at least a few players on the bench capable of changing a game. I’m all for treating the League Cup with a bit of disregard, as clubs in Europe shouldn’t really be in it anyway, but for last year’s finalists to effectively throw a match reflects poorly on the club and on football as a whole.

I have a feeling thats the last of the losses for a while. Slot has earned a free pass this season imho

I think the point of the original post was valid.
It was about job security, not about getting fired.
Taking it to 'let's fire him' was not my intention.
The last two games have been better - but what we've seen for the better part of a year is problematic, and should be discussed/analyzed.
HOpefully, as the closing line of my opening post says, we'll be eating humble pie (I'd be happy with top 2 if honest, though if the team stays healthy and sticks to what we do best, I think we can beat Arsenal again to the title).

Yes it's a big ask but because of the fuck up of those 4 losses we are now in a situation where this game is a must win.. Especially assuming arsenal win on Saturday.. A draw will basically take us on city out of the title race.. We'd be 9 and 8pts behind respectively.
If arsenal drop pts and we don't close the gap then a draw is still a bad result.. Yes it's a big ask but that's down to slots tactics in previous games that has put us in this situation

If he continued to do it he would have, imo of course, been sacked by xmas. Thankfully he swallowed his pride and went back to the style that actually won him the league. No. I just don't think it automatically follows that Klopp would've therefore won it. He probably would. But I'm not sure the opportunity was that much better than 2022 or 2024. All 3 seasons we were credible challengers but definite underdogs. Maybe Klopp would've won it given some of the luck he definitely deserved. What we know for sure is that Slot actually did win it.
