Yep. Newcastle haven't won at Anfield since 1994 and their own trauma made them lose.

Only three teams (Burnley, Leeds and Newcastle) have conceded more goals in the final 10 minutes plus injury time of games than Liverpool (10) this season and no team has lost more points than Liverpool (eight) from those goals.

As for Hodgson, putting job security aside and looking purely at results, these were his signings 😰.
The Williams / Philips thing is why I believe we should play Ramsay at right back until we can trust Gomez to come back in - I always feel like a specialist player with lesser quality is a better option than playing someone else out of position. Dom's done great at right back but a specialist wouldn't have played Silva on yesterday. Not Dom's fault, he's not a right back.

And the word I heard was that Joe Cole was a Christian Purslow signing (like that should ever happen). The rest were on Roy and they, like him, were symptomatic of where we were as a club back then. That was the talent puddle we had to work with.
Yeah, Purslow was trying to sign Cole when Rafa was still there. Benitez didn't want him. Purslow also tried to tell Hodgson who he should sell. Purslow was a grade A wanker
Purslow vetoed the plan to move our admin operations to the Liver Building because, when he went to check everything out, his hair got blown out of place when he was crossing the Strand. True story.
Yeah, there were huge issues that year that weren't usual, definitely some issues this year too. I don't think Slot should get as much leeway as Klopp did, but way more than Hodgson did.
