LIVERPOOL are one of five clubs chasing the signature of John O'Shea, who looks set to turn down Sunderland.

But there is plenty of interest elsewhere, with Tottenham, Newcastle and Aston Villa all interested in the €6m- rated Ireland defender.

After 360 appearances for Manchester United, the Waterford man appears to be on his way out after Alex Ferguson green-lighted a move to the Stadium of Light.

But with a host of clubs enquiring after his availability, the 30-year-old could make a lucrative move this summer.

AAAARRGH !

Besides the fact that he's a scum player he's also Irish so I dont know whether hatred or national bias is clouding this judgement but, were we to buy him he would be a valuable squad asset and very versatile.....they dont call him the monkey wrench for nothing!

So were Bellamy, Keane, Pennant and a whole host of others I can't remember. Even Torres had something or other on his armband...

He might.

O'Shea wouldnt improve us, so he might not even care.
The same applied even more to Heinze though.

At least he could still run.

you mean waddle

Ferguson wouldn't sell to us on general principle, which makes me wonder, what would we do in that circumstance? If there was a player we didn't want any longer and United went for would we be prepared to sell to them?

In regard to O'Shea, if he doesn't cost a lot then he would probably be worth having around. It looks like we are looking at a lot of young players so a bit of experience wouldn't do any harm

Yeah, he's versatile too and is tidy enough. He's not top quality as we know, but he's experienced and a good squad player. I'm sure most of the Oirish probably hate him though, cos he's Oirish obv.

He'd be a pointless signing. Expensive, no better than anything we've got and most likely to take game time away from two good full back prospects.

If Rafa was in charge I would expect this kind of move.

Hes complete and utter bilge. i would top myself if he was anywhere near our squad

I like o'shea but this fits into the castoff debate we had on Johnston. No fanks
Well its different in that O'Shea probably could accurately be labelled a cast off.
