Jordan Henderson

"It was Henderson who snapped into tackles like a wide-jawed Alsatian in midfield"

I don't know which paper had it yesterday... think it was the Torygraph... had Hendo "chasing over the pitch like a puppy chasing flies"...

He was brilliant. I was convinced he was coming off at half time as he was fucked for the end of the first.

His work rate, especially in the second half, was phenomenal and you could see him visibly step it up in response to the roars of encouragement from the crowd.

Looks like Messi is asking Robertson why did you slap me across the head, which Robertson did. Ha.

Good on Henderson to wade in. Someone get the gif of the Henderson and Costa stare down.

Didn't think Henderson was going to be able to walk off the field on his own after the game. He looked absolutely shattered.

In that clip of the ball boy giving the fingers to Messi you can see Hendo just collapse to the floor in the background!

He has just been excellent since the positional move. Whilst I think the abuse he was getting in his more conservative position was over the top, I'll grant it that he looks so much more like a real asset in this role.

If you haven't watched the "Behind the Scenes" vid yet, it shows Wini in the foreground on his knees while Hendo sprawls out behind him. Love those videos, and this one even more than usual!

He's been outstanding.

I do have reservations about his ability to keep that level of performance up over a full season, as the amount of ground he is covering was already insane, & at the intensity he's currently displaying I just can't see it.

However, it makes sense when you think that Hendo can play the 8 role, Keita can, Gini can, Chamberlain can...

So we don't need him playing every match, but we could perhaps do with the others being more mobile & aggressive in a similar manner when he isn't playing.

Essentially agree but I'd put it slightly differently. AFAIC, given where he'd played previously it was always crystal clear that when playing further back he was "taking one for the team", for two reasons: (a) we didn't have better options for the role and (b) we needed to spend the transfer kitty more urgently on other positions. With that in mind I for one never saw him as less than an asset in the circs. That said, he now looks to have come home to his true position.

Fair play, I didn’t think he had this extra level he’s found in the last month of so.

He’s been sensational

I've got a lot of time for Henderson, especially in the more advanced role. I think it was one of the few mistakes Klopp has made since joining. Henderson could play a deeper role, but we lost his inventive final balls, insane pressing and general doggedness in advanced positions. I'm not sure if the decision was made on medical grounds due to his ankle or whether we just couldn't identify a suitable holding midfielder, but I'm glad we are now where we are. Henderson looks more fired up and we are getting the best out of his ability. His time spent at the holding midfielder will prove beneficial when his body does start to decline, but for now let's fully exploit his engine and his talent.

I'd love Henderson to lift the CL for us. I think he has to prove his worth among some sections of supporters, and it'll be a lovely middle-finger up to the knobhead England fans who constantly give him shit.

For me Henderson, Chamberlain should be competing for the most advanced midfield spot, Gini and Keita for the second most advanced midfield spot and Fabinho is just a fixture at holding midfield. Milner to fill in wherever needed, mostly in Europe providing leadership in the middle and allowing rotation.

FUCKING LOVE THAT -
"I will cut you esse"
"You will what?"
"I will cut your cake and deliver it to you shortly, sorry"

Haha. The incident has always reminded me of the moment in the CL semi-final against them in 2005 when Terry upended Djibril Cissé and stood over him giving it large, only to backpedal VERY rapidly when Cissé got up off the floor raging at him. England's John Terry wasn't so brave any more.
