Jost Go

Maybe Joe wants to go?
Well he should not WANT to go when we are building some great that he will be part of. He should know by now that the way we use him will preserve him coz he cannot play to many full games in a row. What he has now is actually good for him, his agent needs to advise him better.

He should definitely go if he wants to play regularly. He's won everything, been in 3 CL finals what else is there to achieve for him?
Being the background guy in trophy lift pictures?

Yes and the fact that he owes us a goal as well.
Look - seriously - I want to keep him for his versatility of being able to cover the entire back-line. Nothing wrong with that role, and he will be used if we are going for a quad.
What is the point of him leaving to join somewhere new anyway ? - his injury record proves that he cannot be a "Regular" starter anyway.

I agree, nothing wrong with that for me or you, but Joe Gomes is 28 years old ( fuck me he's only 28 years old).
He should be in the prime of his career, playing regularly for a top team. He was going to leave last season, but was convinced to stay.

To borrow a line from Game of thrones, "his watch is over", and we all now how many times he's died during his watch.

How long before he gets injured and we start cursing him? We should not sell for £10m but if its £30m then thats a different story

Guehi will not be able to deal with the aerial threats like he can, just look at CP result against Newcastle last season...says it all.

If we get Guehei in, and the fee is right, then I could reluctantly allow him to go. In part this is based on Szob's performance yesterday. He gives us that cover at FB that Gomez offers.

Good stuff. He's only fit for about 20 games a year, but when he is called upon, he generally puts in top class performances still. Good extension for us.

He covers the entire backline for us.

Mama Dash, Bradley, Guehi, Gomez, Robbo is a strong backline to beat the Plymouths of this world!

Can someone make any sense of this?
Not really, but I think in recent years (after his injuries) that Joe has been motivated by more than playing time, international opportunity, etc.

I think Joe is settled, happy, and maybe does not want his son to have to change schools. I think he may be a rare footballer that knows he has enough money to retire with, and that the closest he will get to playing in the World Cup is to sit on the bench and miss summer with his son. Who knows, but he does seem to think about football differently than most.

As if anyone bothers to take note of anything that comes from Sky Sports, it should've gone of out business about 15 years ago.
