Twatter getting all in a tizzy because Mata has tweeted in English for the first time.

It means he is coming to the Premiership apparently :🙂

Apparently some Swiss blokes tried to hold Downing captive recently, but he escaped after 15 mins or so

*has just raised the cerebral level of the puns up about 17 notches*

Please don't remind me. Commentators and pundits are increasingly pronouncing the player's name "cliche", the ignorant tw@ts.

[size=10pt]Juan Mata dismisses exit talk: The reality is I am happy at Valencia[/size]

The midfielder was speaking ahead of Sunday's crunch European Under-21 Championship clash with England and claims Manchester United target David de Gea is one to watch

Valencia midfielder Juan Mata has said that he is content to remain at his current club, insisting that he is happy where he is.

Mata is currently preparing for Spain's Euro Under-21 Championship campaign that kicks off on Sunday evening with a crunch game against England.

The 23-year-old is reportedly being chased by a host of Premier League clubs including Chelsea and Manchester City, but the Spain international wants to remain at the Mestalla.

"Being here [in Denmark] isolates us all from speculation. If we were on holiday we would probably hear more. The reality is that I am happy at Valencia. It took me four years to break through but now I can play regularly in the first-team and for Spain," he is quoted as saying by AS.

"I am putting in a lot of effort to come [to Denmark]. I enjoy playing here as the oldest player. This is not a step down or a holiday for me but a different challenge, which will improve me as a footballer."

When asked which players he felt stood out ahead of the tournament in Denmark, Mata was not short of names and mentioned Manchester United target David de Gea as a player who is set to make an impression in Scandinavia.

"There are many. Midfielders such as Thiago [Alcantara], Ander [Herrera] and [Dani] Parejo as well as Iker Muniain, who is 18 but plays like he is 30," Mata enthused.

"There is also the strong [David] De Gea and Adrian, who is a complete player."

I think he'll leave and that we'll sign him. Apperantly he's left out of all the new photographs of kits etc on their website. Thats always a good indicator.

Interesting. Still don't think we'll sign both Mata and Downing. Downing is a lot more likely.

We're well stocked with midfield players as it is, and Adam is nailed on to join as well.

But we have zero wingers mate
[/quote]

I know mate think we'll see Suarez pull wide next season then a Downing/Mata on the other side with Carroll through the middle.

Either way, i'm just really looking forward to the new season. Such a change from this time last year.
