I think the Keïta extension is this rare case for Liverpool when the club is not being entirely truthful, although you can understand why. Both parties know say that the extension is being offered mainly to protect resale value, not because the club is actually so happy with a player that they want to keep him long-term. If the extension happens, it will only be a temporary marriage of convenience. But the whole “we’re unhappy - No, WE’RE fucking unhappy!” conversation can also be a precursor to a quick divorce.

I don't think he'll be missed.

Maybe by Dave the physio.

@Shady - do you think we can hurry this departure up ? - we only have 2 weeks left of the transfer window, if he goes he must go, and we must sign someone. If only they had sorted this out earlier then our club would have had every f*cking reason to get Matheus Nunes.

Stuck by him for long enough and still think him Fab and Thiago in that midfield is what we need but to be honest it’s got the point now where I don’t care. Guy is always injured.

What's he fucking unhappy about? Playing time? Stay fit! If he does sign a new contract sell him in Jan. The Club needs to wake the fuck-up! If a player doesn't sign a new contract 2 years b4 the expiry, put him on the market.

The resale value argument is pointless because nobody actually wants to buy him. He's 28 this season and has spent most of his prime years injured or out of form. Is somebody really about to offer us good money for Keita aged 29 or 30 when we've had no serious offers for him thus far. He would be mad to extend his contract with us on worse terms and we'd be stupid to offer him an extension unless he is dropping his wages significantly. This is probably one of those rare occasions where all parties would be better off if he moved on next summer

I’ll drive him a the way to Dortmund and pick up Jude for the return journey. I’ll even pay for the petty.
I'll follow behind you in case you break down.

You know when we all got embarrassed by Karius in the champions league final and have nightmares about that performance well I still remember Keitas outside of the boot strike over the bar

Get rid. Sad thing is I cant see us selling him this summer. Which is a shame as we really need to freshen up the midfield, and unhappy players can do one.
He has been a massive let down, injury prone and now unhappy. Sell.

I'm willing to risk losing him for free next year too, ultimately I don't care how we lose him. Players seeing out their contracts and walking seems to be the only fucking way to stop Klopp from hanging onto them

LOL - yep, also this also highlights that we really have not been on top of our game with regards to contracts, we should have had these discussions with him earlier on right ? - that way we could have sorted this mess out and have a new midfielder in. Can also argue the case that Klopp should never have played Ox in any of the pre-seasons - should have just sold him and got whatever we could have. Honestly there is actually no value in any player who is so injury prone, - you just cannot rely on them. Even for Thiago, we need a constant backup to do his role.. Still Matheus Nunes hey ? - oh well

Quite funny thinking how we all jizzed over his Liepzig highlights each week.

"The Keita Updater" I believe was the name of the thread.

@darkstarexodus - please have that wheel barrow on stand by - I don't want you to delay his departure by a single second. If it gets too much - just let us know, I will make sure there are plenty of taxis to take him off you.
