I think it's time to throw someone on the wing and see how it goes. Kuyt isn't having the best of times, Cole has been a letdown so far and no one else is any good.

I know it's a difficult time to start throwing youngsters in, but something's got to give outwide, we're just too fucking predictable and Johnson is starting to remind me of Pennant in EVERY way, half arsed, inconsistent delivery despite having acres of space and time on the ball and generally just fucking shit.

I don't know if Suso is ready, but I don't think we've got much to lose at the minute. Let's shake it up.

I wonder if our kids are really that poor. Why is it that the past 3 managers haven't really give any young lad a chance? (Hammill and Anderson just to name 2 - not saying they'll be good enough but they weren't even given a proper chance, were they?) That's what a squad is for and its when in case of injuries/suspension/poor form that youngsters get their chance, isn't it? Not everyone is a Walcott or Rooney and can make an instant breakthru.
 
We all know the kids wont get a shot, so it's no point really speculating or asking for it.

I can think of about 3 or 4 guys in the last 10 years - who got their token appearance - before getting shoveled off to the Championship.

Kelly is a kid whos made the breakthrough, its just Englands number 1 RB with a 17M price tag that he has to oust, and he's already proved he is a better defender than him.

We're not a club who promote through the ranks anymore. It's been over a decade since Gerrard came through.

I rate Kelly very highly, but his injury record has been very poor and it is cause for concern.

Some of the lads who played today need to fall on a sword.

The same can be said for management - the football played today was dire.

I think the three I mentioned need to get involved. Perhaps not all in the same starting eleven but something needs to give and if they aren't ready now, they won't ever be. We're crying out for some change.
 
kids used to take up arms and go to the trenches. they used to work in the mines. so tell me what excuses these overpaid cunts from being thrown in at the deep end? we're hardly sending them to their deaths.

When they're good enough. If we had a young McManaman to pluck out of the reserves and stick on the wing, I'd be all for it. We don't though. Amoo is a fantastic athlete, but would get found out at this level. Ince would get trampled on. Ecclestone can play out wide and has a bit of skill and pace, but reckon he'd struggle also.

I don't really see who we're going to get from the reserves to give us the width we're crying out for.
