4 league titles and European cups then you can have time off!
Let’s see how he goes in the next 3 years in terms of trophies and rebuilding.
Just allow Pep Ljinders to take us for a year. Mandate will be to just keep us in the top 4 and let Jurgen have a break for a year. Don't know why clubs don't do this more often.
All part of the learning curve. The idea of offering a sabbatical seems a good one in principle but I'm not sure it would work for us in practice, as I'm far from convinced about Lijnders stepping in. He crashed and burned in his one and only go at a far less pressurised management job in Holland.
I actually read the opposite. Can't vouch for it but I heard shortly afterwards that we tried to do just that and the great man wasn't having it, feeling just too hollowed out by what he'd been through.
As far as Lijnders is concerned, sorry but I'd want him (or anyone) to have got the necessary learning under their belt before, not after, becoming manager of LFC, even on a caretaker basis. As I said, I like the principle of it but you still need the right individuals in the right positions to make it work.

Kenny fairly quickly changed his mind about permanently quitting but he was given the impression that he wasn't wanted back

I don't think we're disagreeing here. After the King turned down the club's suggestion they accepted what seemed to be the inevitable and moved on, then by the time his change of heart took place it was too late. They did initially put it to him though.

Tbh if it meant we could have Klopp back after a year I'd take pretty much anyone as interim manager.
Phil Brown, Alan Curbs Curbishley, Stevie Bruce, Barry Fry. Even Jason Cundy.
As much as we would like it based upon the last 5 years, we would all love him to stay longer, but just can't see it. I'm sure he has said 7 years is a good time as manger at a club. He will go back to Germany, maybe to be national coach or back to Mainz (sentimental), but see him giving up on coaching completely.
Interested to see how nagelsmann continues to progress, he looks a top coach in making andLand would be my choice if klopp was leaving tomorrow. Also interested to see how Stevie continues north of border.
I might draw the line at Hodgson.
i reckon Pep will go before Klopp. He looks to be on the point of burn-out.As much as we would like it based upon the last 5 years, we would all love him to stay longer, but just can't see it.
