Klopp extending?

He's doing a fucking great job. Yes, yes, he needs to win something. But he has put us in positions where we have the chance of winning something quite regularly in the past few years. Before he came we were generally miles away.

There's a certain hilarious David Moyes picture that always comes to mind when talking about managers not winning

If City win the FA cup and the league, who will they play in the Charity shield? Runner up in the league or FA cup?

I'll fucking take it, because that means we've won the league or fa cup
cough...If the Team wins both the FA Cup and the Premier League, the team which ended up as runners up of the Premier League will play the FA Community Shield

I thought it was fa cup

It's a 'no shit, Sherlock' type of prediction. Of course he's very likely to extend his contract if we win something big. I'm more concerned about him not doing so if we miss out again. He's done some great things - we play great football, we have some fantastic players, we attract other fantastic players, we've been on some wonderful runs, and we're bringing on some really exciting young kids as well. This mustn't be one of those seasons where, if we miss out, we slide back down like we did under Rafa and Rodgers. We need everyone in for the long term.

Hope it happens. Hard to imagine any manager being a better fit for us right now

We were lucky to get him, and we're lucky to have him.

He needs to win a trophy, though. We've come close, we've improved, we have a very good team, but Top 4 is a minimum requirement. Klopp has to win something sooner rather than later.

Arsenal, Chelsea and United would Snap our hands off to have him. All of them aim for top 4 (two of them will stay outside) and they don't even would take him for titles... so our upnose attitude that he really need a trophy is not 100% fair. He need to keep improving us and as a result the trophy will come. But his focus on constant improvement is the right one. You can only look at getting the short term act together.. not at the final day of the season or the CL final in May. We are in a superb status compared to the last decades.

I agree with taking each game one at a time but I wouldn't entirely agree that you can only look at getting the short term act together. Those games we're (rightly) taking one by one need to be part of a pattern that steadily builds towards the latter end of the season when the really big prizes are won and lost. It's a tricky balance to strike, but we have to try.

Strongly agree with your last sentence. This is the first time in nearly 30 years that we've got owners, management, squad and facilities all in good shape at the same time. Now we've got to get out there and make it all count, and I'm confident we will. Practically Klopp's first statement after arriving was that we needed to change from doubters to believers. I have, for one.

Hes doing a great job but hes got 3.5 years left on his current deal so its way too early to think about extending it. If he sees out this contract hed be here 7 years, that would make him our longest serving manager since Paisely. If its a better deal to keep other clubs from sniffing around fair enough but I dont see any reason to be concerned about tying him down longer term.

Feels like Andreas Kornmayer is being groomed for succession.
