I'm usually not arsed about the league cup and I guess the same goes for many of you as well.
However, I think this game is a good warm up game for the backups and fringe players in our squad.

Will be interesting to see if Jota makes an appearance.
Will also be nice to see Elliott, Jones, Neco, Tsimikas and others.

Hopefully Matip and Gomez are back for this one.

Matip will only be back after the International break, according to Klopp. Looking forward to seeing Koumetio.

Matip is fast falling into the Sturridge category. This just can't do. Koumetio is 17 and nowhere ready for the first team. Philips is kinda ok, but clearly not destined for the top. He wants to leave anyway.

We should be looking for a new long-term CB soon.

Think we have to play someone with experience. Take him off at half time
And if he gets injured? Nah, no way I can see Klopp risking that for the League Cup, no matter what form Lincoln are in.

The lack of travelling fans makes Klopp picking a side of ressie & kids easier for him, as does being able to point out the FA Cup wins last time he did it.

Supposedly we are ? The Schalke CB - forget his name. The Schalke CEO said we have been in contact.

Yeah, let's see. Pearce mentioned we've been tracking both Ben White and Ben Godfrey. Not sure how good this Kabak fellow is.

Based on yesterday no need for Thiago to play unless its anything other than minutes. I'd like to see all of the fringe players out

Potentially a shame for Elliot if he doesn't get a start here either but I desparately want Shaq to make a statement and get in line for more minutes.

Yes, this is probably the one we might see.
I think we judge who's staying and going by who plays in this game. Maybe Grujic plays but it won't matter because he's most likely going abroad.
But if Shaq and Origi don't play, they're probably goners.

Shaq is injured isn't he?

Otherwise I could possibly see Jones and keita ahead of Millie or grujic

I think Thiago needs games to get used to the tactics and style at Liverpool. And I just want to drool all over the screen again.
Hoping he starts. I think it’s possible considering he won’t likely be starting the next league game for us.

When was the last time Shaq was fit for a game? Beneath all that muscles is just glass
The problem isn't what beneath though, the problem is his fucking muscles. He has too much muscle mass.
Yeah that works in a young body, but with age he needs to get leaner. Seriously he should be doing yoga.

I think he'll start against Arsenal and I actually wouldn't be surprised if we keeps Fabs at the back to use his composure against Auba.

Origi must start. Squeezing Elliot in.

Why must he?

Why squeeze in an average player, to move 2 players out of their best positions.

Elliot wide, minamino central.

If we're forcing in a striker, I'd prefer it to be be Brewster if he's doesnt leave. And even then id move minamino to midfield as he can play there.

Damn. I'd forgotten all about Brewster - I guess we'll find out if the process is really underway for a loan/transfer. Must start if he's not on a train to wherever.

In these LC / early FAC matches Klopp often squeezes square pegs into round holes just to give them a game. I've no problem with that, just want to see them on the pitch. However, Origi an average player ? He's far more established and experienced than most of that team and a few classes above Lincoln's defenders no doubt. A spine of Adrian, Grujic and Origi gives some stability. Minamino too of course.

I don't see why Brewster would Play; for Chris Wilder to come out over the weekend and confirm talks are underway you'd imagine they're atleast advanced and therefore unlikely he plays surely ?
