Fuck playing VDB he’ll never make it here.

Strongish team. I want a domestic trophy and want to go as long as possible without losing a game.

I'd like van den berg to get a game. You're not going to develop at CB unless you play

I'd like to think we should have enough in attack for lincoln. Not like we're at this level anymore

I'm still holding out for Dani Pacheco to come good...

Lincoln will definitely all have the rona. We'll get there and get them tested and the whole squad will have it. That's what happened to Leighton Orient last night. I didn't know they only found out cos Spurs paid for their tests.

Their chairman was giving out about the cancellation and said if he could do it again he'd say no to doing the tests.

Fuck, neither did I.

Heavy.

Yep. We are paying for Lincoln tests too.

So fucking stupid. Put the Prem teams in a bubble, then force them to play a team outside the bubble.

Just read they were due to receive 125k from Sky as facilities fee. With the financial difficulties these clubs are facing, no wonder he said that.

From our perspective, it's probably best if we just bin the useless competition. Can't risk any of our players getting infected.

I get why people are saying that, & whilst I kinda understand, I do think it may good for the younger players to get games, cos I struggle to see how many they're gonna get, esp the midfielders, now we've got a bigger squad with more quality players to choose from.

I did used to think that, but after looking at how it worked for a while, I came to the conclusion that IMHO it doesn't help enough. Yes, we can use the kids, and generally I'm all for that, but in cup games against some older and much stronger players who know all the tricks, and with big media interest that is positively salivating to mock the players if they bomb out (regardless of their age), it strikes me that it's far more likely some will be traumatised rather than boosted by the (usually very brief) experience.

I want our kids to play against older and more experienced players, but I feel that needs to be in proper season-long reserve leagues, where there's a mix of age groups and regular games, so the kids really get guaranteed experience at playing at a decent level, and in relative privacy. The cups have come to be used as a kind of excuse to ignore the almighty mess made by abandoning the old reserve set-up and focusing on age-specific leagues. Those leagues go nowhere - they leave the best young players needing a kind of electric shock treatment (one-off big adrenaline-pumped cup games) to get them up to senior contention - which is why the cups that would otherwise be vulnerable to binning survive - whilst some pundits have the nerve to complain about the kids being used!

Leicester 0-2 Arsenal (C Fuchs 57' og. E Nketiah 90')

Leicester made 11 changes to the team that beat Burnley. Arsenal made seven changes for Mikel Arteta from the team that beat West Ham with Bernd Leno, Rob Holding, Bukayo Saka (MotM) and Sead Kolasinac keeping their place.

Beat Lincoln and we're at home to Arsenal then.

Hope Arsenal lot have all been tested, they only played West Ham last week and Moyes and co are all potential carriers.

Looks like Gomez and Henderson are out for this one. Koumetio has been out too, and has joined training only today.

Think we might see van Dijk and Phillips at the back. Also feel that Thiago will play.

Err...apparently it's Van den Berg and Rhys Williams.
Heh. Tbh you can't blame Klopp. If he played VVD & he got injured right now it's not much of an exaggeration to say that with the other CB injuries it could derail our season even this early.

Thiago and jota will start, Rhys Williams and van den berg at the back. Probably throw in Kostas and neco for the back 4. Could also play Robbo for seniority, bit kind of seems bit weird to

Jones and keita ahead of thiago?

Jota taki and Elliot? Maybe origi instead of Elliot?

Maybe
I thought Pep said it would be a surprisingly senior team
Maybe alisson, Robbo, thiago, keita, origi jota and taki as the senior side?

Senior in age, not necessarily length of time with club
