LFC SOLD to NESV.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

If hodgson is in charge till the end of the season, the club might be valued at 100 millions by then.

hicks and gillett should just fuck off immediately.

John Henry is not rich enough to own Liverpool though. I hope NESV has more powerful backers, otherwise it will be same thing all over again....
If he pays off the 237m we owe and we can use profit to strengthen the club instead of furnish debt, its a massive step forward!!

Re: Club Refinance Thread

2 things;

1 - I'm inclined to believe the board (and by the board, I mean minus those 2 cowboys) when they say that they will not sanction a deal that will put a penny of debt onto the club. Whatever you think of Purslow and Broughton, their recent actions have proven they are not simple yes men (obviously there was a degree of self preservation at times too, but I think at the heart of things is the best interests of the club), so I think they will follow through on this, which means if we are sold it will not be a leveraged buyout.

2 - I honestly dunno what those dickheads think they are going to get? "We've increased revenue blah blah blah" Yeah but you've also saddled the club with debt that's due for repayment in 8 days you tits! And under your watch we have gone from a Champions league club to a (at the moment anyway) Uefa cup club.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

Boston Red Sox?

Well, all I can say is, fuck the NY Yankees!

Go Red Sox!!!!

No no no... he's exclusively revealing stuff to us.
Official statement from Liverpool - Broughton says its done!!!!!!! Deal agreed!!!!! He's dissappointed the owners are blocking the deal and its now in a legal process!!
According to sky it would take 10 days to ratify board changes to the premier league meaning effectively the owners are fucked. If they cant change the board before banks deadline then they lose everything.
So the key is RBS. If they put Purslow and Ayres in with the power to force through a majority sale then its all but done.
But its clear that Hicks and Gilette will make nothing here so if they can stop it they will.
Ha. Ultimately if we are sold we are debt free. We might not be Mansour or Abramovich cash rich, but maybe just maybe we can spend what we earn again!

Come on RBS, show your balls.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

If i remember right, Liverpool FC generates more revenue than this?

http://www.forbes.com/lists/2006/33/330700.html

So am i right in saying that Liverpool FC will eclipse Boston Red Sox as financially the most valuable asset of NESV?

I'm just trying to find if we will get any spare change out of NESV for playing staff + stadium, after they buy out the debt. As buying out the club and its debt in itself seems like a really massive out lay for them.

and not one mention of the new stadium in those quotes.

mediocrity time.
I think whoever came in, it would be highly unlikely the stadium would be top of the agenda, blame those two cunts, because the agenda now is to clear the debt, to have the finance for the stadium you'd be asking someone to come in and invest close to a billion in the club, not to mention everyone expecting the buyer to cough up money for players too.

Hopefully we can sort out something along the lines of Arsenal's new stadium.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

I can't see a new stadium from these guys.

Are they better than h&g though, almost certainly, as there'll be payment of the debt, at least reducing if not removing that interest millstone.

That was always going to be the way forward. Even an Abramovich style owner wouldn't stump up 400M+ cash for the stadium. That said, it would be nice to hear of a vision for the future, which included plans for a stadium, but I guess all in good time.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

Underwhelmed TBH.

Something doesn't feel right. I hope I'm wrong but I just cannot trust any Yank entity owning our club.

As Brendan said, Frying Pan : Fire !!!

Sahara would have been a better shout IMO. Pity they walked away.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

After what the 2 cunts have put us through, I just want to see some or all of the debt repaid and investment in better players. There should be plans to build a new stadium too but the first 2 should take priority of this and next season at least.

I don't want more American 'sports franchise' people.

you're gonna be gutted when you hear who's buying us.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

One very telling difference between H&G and this bid is that, H&G floated a holding company just for the purpose of takeover and saddled that company with loans. They had to do that, as it was a 50-50 effort.

Here NESV is actually bidding and purchasing. So the business will be run as professionally as the rest of its asset. Anybody have any clue on NESV's Debt/Equity ratio?

Cheers...

Re: Club Refinance Thread

I dont know what to think of this. I am not convinced about American businessmen for obvious reasons.

However there are two things to be positive about.

1. If they are in it for the money, the money are in Champions League and not in Championship.

2. If we are debt free we have money to spend on new players, and the plan for a new stadium is to finance it with the revenue gained from the new stadium. It is unrealistic to believe someone will cough up those money to be nice.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

Another one of our strategic focuses is managing our asset portfolio. Early in the second quarter, we completed the sale of about 7% of our interest in New England Sports Ventures for a pre-tax gain of approximately $9 million. We continue to hold a 16.6% stake in NESV, and we are still exploring the sale of this asset.
-- The NY Times Company Statement July 2010.

Who bought these shares i wonder...

Re: Club Refinance Thread

They'll be good owners for us in the medium to long term but there's going to be a lot of shit to get through first. Henry isn't adverse to firing a manager who he doesn't feel is capable of success. Google grady little folks.

How awkward must it be for sos? More yanks!

It is quite far from New England to Texas in distance. I really hope it is in mindset as well!

Re: Club Refinance Thread

The sale is not completed yet! The owners are seeking for legal redress.

It might drag on for some time...
