to be honest that's been the case for a long time. it was obvious months ago that we were never going to be sold for anything like what H&G want for us, and that idea of selling a stake for £100m was always a non-starter given how awful the majority owners are.
i suppose the one thing to remember is that eventually, at some point, RBS will have to bite the bullet and force a sale if they want to get their capital back. i think that'll probably be next month, but even if it's not then it shouldn't be too long after that.
