LFC SOLD to NESV.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

I don't care who these new people are or where they come from, they simply have to be better than our current whopper owners.

Regardless of what happens from here on in, it seems that there is no doubt left that the likes of Purslow, Ayres and Broughton have been trying to do their best for Liverpool Football Club.

Hopefully this deal gets completed asap and we can all move on and upwards.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

Brendan, you should read a bit about Henry before making your mind up.
He ticks all the right boxes to be the type of owner we want.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

See Hansern's position and see Brendan's position... the truth is somewhere in the middle of all that.

Don't be silly. Brendan is *always* right about everyone, don't dare question his opinion again.

As for his 'broughton is getting a big fucking payout' comment, derrrrrrrrr no shit, what did you think he was getting paid for or brought in to do?

Re: Club Refinance Thread

Does this mean that the RAWK idiots who bought that standards corrupted shirt will now buy the real shirt?!

Re: Club Refinance Thread

How much did this fella actually buy the club for and do we know where he got the money? It doesn't sound like he is that loaded really that he could just pay hundreds of millions out?

Right, so why was he called "a hero"? Wow, well done, you sold us to the first people who could show you the money. Hurray!

Time will tell if I'm right to be nervous and apprehensive about these prospective new owners, but I probably am.

And I thought one of the criteria of the sale according to Broughton would be a new stadium? Where the fuck are they going to get the money to do that? Oh wait, I know. More and more debt. Even if they do commit to it. Which I ALSO DOUBT.

So, good news: H&G gone. Debt reduced (for now). Apart from that? Pfffft. It's still shit.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

Harry Harris has said on Soccernet that "Roy Hodgson will not be replaced by the new American owners of Liverpool and will be given every chance to prove he is the right manager for the club".

Re: Club Refinance Thread

£300 mill is the sum going around now. That effectively leaves the cunts with nada, as that will probably just clear the debt and other costs realted to the debt.

It would have given them a nice profit if they hadnt been such cunt to load the debt to the club!!

It sounds like they have fought H&G all the way and stopped them from refinancing against the clubs assets. Seeing as every single LFC fan i know would of viewed this as the worst possible outcome, then we've just got to be thankful to them for doing this.

We've yet to see the new owners plans, so lets just wait and see what they have in store for us before we jump to conclusions (not directed at you Mark).

3. I think it's a good sign that Rosco's in favour of this lot. I really don't understand economics or finance or LBOs or any of that shit at all, so I'm just going to put all my blind faith in some Irish lawyer who happens to post on the same football forum as me. And if it all goes wrong, I'll blame him.

Hahahaha! Hilarious.

As for Broughton and Pursslow being heroes of the day, fucking wake up.

Broughton's getting a massive pay-out for selling the club, and Pursslow was desperate for anyone to buy it, because G&H were going to fire him. So they're both quids in and Purssslow stays in charge of his train set.

And they've sold us to the FIRST buyers who could scarpe up the cash required - ie more hedge-fund Yanks with not enough money - so all we're going to get is an increase in ticket-prices and the usual pittance to spend in the transfer market. No more big wages, no more big transfer fees, years of mediocrity to come.

The only positive is that Budgie will probably get sacked after a season at best.

This is the worst "good" news EVER.
But hang on, I thought there were NO buyers out there, and that the whole thing was a total fuck-up or possibly a conspiracy?

You're just being negative out of some bloody-minded, default pessimism now. And because you hate being wrong.

So, we don't want someone who actually knows how to run a club. And is regarded as one of the most poular owners in sports today. If they're well liked in Boston, there's a good chance they'll be well liked in Liverpool. Similar blue collar cities with very passionate fans.

And if you look at a couple of the other partners in Henrys group, there are some with a bit of money aswell.

There weren't. But it was obvious a distressed asset was going to bring some more money-hungry sharks to feast at our carcass.
Which is what has happened.

no it wouldn't! they'd have been paying the interest all these years for a start, not to mention that their 'nice profit' would've gone straight to RBS to discharge the loan that would've been their personal obligation.

Did anyone ever expect us to have no debt whilst building our new stadium Bren?

I don't know about anyone else, but i can live with us taking out a loan if we actually get a brand new home out of it.

It's the huge debt with us getting nothing in return that was such a fucking killer.

Re: Club Refinance Thread

I need help from somebody here. I remember reading recently that LFC had record revenues this year and the only reason we are not doing well financially is because that revenue is getting eaten up by the interest payments. Can anyone point me to the article that said this?
No, but it looks like the Greedy Bastard has fallen into his own trap.

Last round of refinancing from RBS seemed to happen only if the bank itself had the control of the upcomming sale process. Hicks and Gillett seemed to believe they should net a huge profit, and agreed to terms basicly ripping their boardroomcontrol apart.

Then there were no buyers to the price they touted (surprice surprice), and they tried to refinance with the club as security. Or not just the club, but the stadium, the players, the income in the future and whatever. They found lenders, but the board blocked them down. If they had the control back then they would have sacked the board allready then. But they fell into their own trap, and the convicing that they would net the profit cost them. They will shout about legal interpretion et al, but I feel confident that the chairman of BA knows a thing or two about business and legal aspects as well. I hope Broughton has guided this home now.

I am not comfortable with new American business concortium basing their profit on screwing poor (but greedy, you have to be greedy to invest in Hedgefunds) americans. But right now it will cause some needed optimism around Anfield! And we desperately need just that.

But don't worry, we can always use Purrsssslow's extensive knowledge of football to appoint another shit manager. Maybe Snoogy Doogy is ready to move into management?

True. I just meant that if they had the 187 mill pounds the bought the club for initially, they would have had a 115 mill pound profit by now. But they were skint then and even more skint now.

Paperwork on #LFC deal just signed. But expect Hicks and Gillett to dig their heels in deep.

The Boston Red Sox were a joke. They aren't any more. If these guys handle LFC the same way they operated there, we'll be fine.
