A LIVERPOOL man accused of stealing an historic stone and putting it up for sale on eBay has apologised.

Lee Brady, from Huyton, was arrested on suspicion of theft after he took the stone from an ancient religious monument in Suffolk.

The 24-year-old decided to sell the stone on the auction website after returning home from visiting the ruins of an abbey in Bury St Edmunds.

Lee was shocked when two police officers turned up at his home with a warrant for his arrest.
