Liverpool are prepared to step up their interest in Dutch star Quincy Promes after missing out on Jurgen Klopp’s No.1 target Julian Draxler.
Draxler, who sealed a move to Paris-Saint Germain from Wolfsburg, was earmarked as a January target Klopp but the German boss refused to pay astronomical wages for any potential new recruits.
Liverpool, set be without Sadio Mane for the entirety of January due to his involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations, will turn their attentions to Spartak Moscow winger Promes after missing out on Draxler.

24-year-old Promes, who has earned 14 international caps for the Netherlands, boast an impressive goalscoring record having notched 37 goals in 72 appearances for Russian club Spartak Moscow.
Promes arrived in Moscow after his €15 million transfer from Dutch side FC Twente and is valued by Spartak at around £20m, according to the Mirror.
Spartak general director Sergey Rodionov confirmed that Promes has a release clause written into his contact, but refused to confirm the specific amount: ‘We will try to keep him, but yes, he has a release clause. How much, I do not tell,’ he said.

Promes certainly ticks all the boxes with what we're looking for. If the release clause is 20 millish then why not.

Looks quick but very very raw. Doesn't look good enough to make a difference in our team.

Uh-oh a Russian club? This could involve our outgoing CEO being dicked around and made to look even dafter than he is

I played with him on FIFA 17, he's a beast! 4/5 star skills, 4/5 weak foot. Based on this and the way he performed for me on FIFA 17, I want us to sign him!

Gini responds on Instagram - Anyone make out the destination? I think it says Amsterdam but could be wrong.

Other than having all the right attributes as a player, I think him being on the same pitch might up Gini's game, similar to how Cou's presence does for Firminio.

Yeah, I bet that the Russian owner has promised him a transfer to Liverpool but he's actually sold to Kabul Utd.
