IWow, never expected that to happen at this time.

Although, is the fact that June has just started anything to do with it. Another year off the contract?

To be fair, I was settled on Rafa staying until new owners came in, which I could have lived with. I like the idea of appointing Kenny as a temp manager, as I think it's inevitable that the new owners will bring in a new manager, but we're at least a year off any sale of the club happening. Seems pointless to appoint someone for such a short period of time, and I don't really like the idea of it either.

[/quote]Yeah, there was talk nothing would happen, year one is done on the contract now so it will affect the pay off. Hope this doesn't get messy. A clean break would be best for both parties.

With Rafa going I am suffering a bit of dual emotions.

On the one hand I am quite nervous about the consequences as it is a bit of a leap into the unknown with there being a period of uncertainty ahead.
Change for changes sake is rarely a good thing but maintaining the status quo just because you fear the consequences can be even more damaging. Especially at it seems that maintaining our status quo would have meant running the risk of losing players without having the ability to properly replace them, and of course the shit football as well.

On the other hand though I am experiencing a certain giddy excitement. Perhaps the next manger will be the "ONE" and he will help us rise up, like a red liverbird like feckin phoenix thing from the flames and wreckage of last season. Perhaps the new manager will be the Messiah and as the saying goes I will recognise him as such because I have seen enough of them in my time.

the irony is that if this is true - which it probably isnt and is just a despicable media leak by our rent boy chairman to pressure Benitez to take a compensation package lower than his contract entitles him to - then the irony is Benitez will walk into another top job and we will sink further with a lower caliber yes man at the helm

Purslow is truly a snake and the board need exposing for what they are. Hopefully Benitez does it but I think he'll take the Inter Milan job along with Mascherano, with Gerrard probably going to Madrid
