Dunno about everyone else but I despair when I see that 'we go again' skin crawling cringy bollocks. Lets fucking do this or words to that effect will suffice.

Anyhow...what's your starting 11 for this?

Mine is:

-------- Mignolet --------------

Manquillo ----- Skrtel ----- Lovren ---- Johnson

------ Hendo ---- Gerrard ---- Can

----- Sterling---------------------- Coutinho

---------------- Sturridge -----------------------------

First games of the season can be tricky but Southampton are in a bit of disarray atm, and I fully expect a home win to kickstart the season.

3nil Reds.... Hendo, Sturridge and Gerrard(pen)

Seeing as we've bought 3 Soton players its natural that we'll lose 0-1 with Fraser Forster playing a blinder..

Seriously though. Think we'll win 3-0. Studge, Sterling and Lovren.

I reckon we will tear them apart, something ridiculous like 8-0. Then City are going to get battered.

Team picks itself bar the full backs IMO. 2 from Manquillo, Johnson and Enrique. Too soon for Moreno and Flan is only on way back from injury.

Agree with TS's team, looks good. That 'we go again' bollocks from the gaffer and captain is terrible, and yes it's a standing/slipping joke with most other teams now.
Hopefully get a good win under our belts (I'd take a dirty scrappy 1-0) to take us into the tough couple that follow.

Bollocks to scrappy wins. Big win and send out the message that we are back and better than before.

Bollocks to playing great, going 2-0 up, the defence falling on it's arse and us drawing. Everyone would like to thump southampton, but a win's a win, I'll take whatever win we can get to get us going. I shall wheel out the old cliche for this one - there are no easy games in the premier league.

Yeh, with the City game around the corner this is a big game for us, considering we beat City at the end of last season, win big and we'll have them worried.

Johnson surely has to be dropped now.

And yeah, that "we go again" thing is fucking bollocks. I'm sick to death of it.

I don't agree about Magic. The way he played against Dortmund, I'd sooner see him at LB than Enrique.

"We go again" is getting boring now, but IMHO no more so than so many other clichés, footballing or otherwise.

One good game out of how many? He's still a liability. And Enrique will have something to prove coming back from injury.

Magic was very steady when he had a spell on the left before, more than Enrique's been IMHO (I'd keep him on the left now). Depends to some extent on how they perform in training, but at the moment I'd say Magic's the better bet.

If Flanagan is fit, I'd like us to go with him on the left (more defensive-minded FB) and Manquillo on the right (more adventurous FB). Sterling will be a one-man wrecking crew down the left even if Flanagan doesn't push as far up anyway, and Henderson will push out to the right at times to help Manquillo like he did against Dortmund.

I think this offers us decent balance, while also kicking Johnson in the balls to show him that he's going to get the Agger treatment if he doesn't wise up, and that one okay pre-season game doesn't change things. He's got a long way to go to prove that he deserves his place back, and I hope the likes of Flanagan, Manquillo and Moreno do well enough to keep him out.

Now if Flanagan isn't available, then it becomes a bit tricky. I think I'll stick with Enrique to start at LB and Johnson can then come off the bench to back up either spot.

So we don't think Moreno will start? I think there is a good chance he will although he isn't on FF yet!

Manpillow and Johnson will start imo.

I feel for Gerrard regarding going again and not letting it slip. The reason why he gathered his team in a huddle to deliver that rallying cry is because it was meant for their ears only and not some nosy bastard Sky Sports cameraman.
Spot on.
