What a shambles. I personally don't remember much from that game. I'm gonna try to find the match thread, might give us some more info.

That was the game that brought us Klopp at least
It wasn't actually.

Brenda still got 2 months of the following season to really stick the knife in...eventually got sacked after the 1-1 draw at the bitter blues.

That game was Stevie's very last game for us.

Yeah, we all know that, but we also all knew he was on borrowed time and was going to get sacked anyway

Dragging out a draw where we create numerous chances and play With Stevie G, Sterling and Phil Coutinho as an example of a low point tells me you have not dig deep at all. We have had so many piss poor games over the years…. What about thos games were Wigan gave us a beating and we created zero chances?

If we had a new manager for start of that season we would've had a better season.

Maybe, but it's also possible that Klopp might not have wanted to jump straight in, so the extra few months off while Rodgers bumbled along may have been crucial.

Either way, we got a better manager in eventually, and certainly the best one we could have possibly hoped for.

"Look at Sean O’Driscoll, he is one of the best coaches I have ever come across,” Rodgers said. “He has never had a chance in the top flight. His teams were expressive, had movement, they were technical, but he will probably never get a chance at a higher level.”

Yeah this was it. Klopp needed a break so we had more disappointment but the Stoke game sealed it

Yeah cause that defence was great, right?

Skrtel was such a horrific defender.

That's not strictly true. He had some very impressive seasons for us and was voted player of the year one season.

He never was the most assured and could be nervy as fuck. When the whole team defended badly he wasn't able to steady it and only added to the chaos, but I do not think it's fair for anyone's worst performances to define their legacy.

Skittles <> Carra was a pretty strong pairing

When he got spooked Skrtel always retreated further and further back regardless of where the midfield was.

Yeah that Stoke game was pretty horrible.

But nothing will top the period around 2010.

Joe Cole, Konchesky, Poulsen, Jovanovic, Ngog, Spearing, Kyrgiakos - a truly depressing time.
