I'd sell him in the blink of an eye if I had any confidence we'd bring in someone better. But knowing us we'd replace Mr Bang Average with Mr Dog Shit.
The only way I would allow him to go is getting Kovacic in some kind of deal. But I would rather prefer keeping Lucas, we need him. You will start realising how good he is when he and Hendo play regularly in that midfield duo role. You would say one day, that was fucking mad idea of selling Lucas. Lucas is slowly getting back to his fitness and previous level. We should keep him at all cost for one more season.
This would be absolute madness. The alternatives for playing this role are Gerrard who couldn't do it earlier in the season or Can who has looked better in defence than he did in midfield. Or Henderson who isn't the best tackler or very good at distributing the ball unless it's backwards. Maybe allen is going to be fit soon and rodgers thinks he can do as good a job as Lucas. Joe allen makes coutinho look like Roy Keane.
Whilst our defence is far from perfect is has shown signs of improvement since Lovren was dropped for sakho and Lucas came into the midfield. Lucas does give some fouls away but maybe that's because he actually makes some fucking tackles!

Letting Lucas go mid season is a mistake and that's saying a lot as I've never thought he was good enough long term. At the moment he is doing a job better than anyone else we have played in that position. Perhaps Can given the chance will fill the void and hopefully improve on it.

Milan are being linked with a move for Zenit St Petersburg’s Axel Witsel by the Italian media.
The 25-year-old central midfielder has played 54 times for the Belgian national team, and moved to Russia in 2012.
Despite Zenit paying €40m to bring the former Benfica player to St Petersburg just three years ago, SportMediaset reports that Milan are considering a bid for the player.
The news outlet believes that Witsel would be very keen on a move to Serie A, and Milan will offer €3m for an initial loan, with €17m to be paid in the summer.
Mediaset states that a third party is currently in negotiations with the Russian club to persuade them to take a €20m hit on the midfielder.

That's smack. No team can perform with only 9 outfield footballers, you'll always get caught out.
I also find the concept that a footballer as limited with a football as he is can take home however much he is.

That was my point. We can't afford to spend that big on that position. Nor can we attract the few players who are that complete. It's very difficult at least.

All I'm saying is that last seasons team with Lucas in the engine room and the right partner could easily work.
We need money for a new Suarez, right?
