I don't usually watch these hour long sit downs with ex players/managers going down memory lane and all that stuff, but I did between Rio and Sadio. A lot of things were said that took me by surprise that I didn't have a clue happened until the last few days.
Never knew Klopp was desperate to have him at Dortmund
Never knew a week before Klopp called him in 2016, he had a meeting with LVG and could've joined Utd. Thankfully LVG's army at the time was filled to the brim with ego's that didn't match the talent, so Sadio said no thank you.
Never knew he visited Spurs' training ground and facilities and practically verbally agreed to join them.
I guess it makes you think how quickly things can change during the transfer window.

That really wasn’t what he was saying. He said Bobby to him was special. A guy you invite around his house etc. Mo was scoring more, goals wise even more so than him so he tried to help him get more goals. So in essense you win hearts with Bobby but titles with Mo, you need both to be the best team and we had that.
I said a while back that my old man, everyone wins, kids can't participate debate when I'm 70 would be Mane Salah or Firmino. I guess we are old at heart. It's just an excuse to talk and it's all of the best attack I've ever seen. The answer of a random person to this question and their justification for it is a totally valid way of getting to know them, but no answer is wrong, and no one should really care too much because there's nothing to be aggrieved about, unless you're modo, evidently.

You'd think so right, and yet here we are. I'm not certain some of the commenters in this thread watched the full interview, but why would you if you saw a clickbait headline or edited clip that suits your narrative?
Of course he will go down as one of the greats, one of our greats anyway. And whether Mane thinks Bobby was exceptional and Mo was great, ultimately Mo will be seen as the better player and that's not to undermine Bobby's contribution, he knitted the attack, but Mo's career and individual stats are what you would call exceptional.
Mane was my favourite player in that team by some distance, simply brilliant.
I love Sadio, good on him being so cool and honest.

I've been facing up to the strange fact that I currently prefer hearing the thoughts of Scholes, Neville, Ferdinand, and Keane to the average fellow red.
I spent so much of my youth actively hating those people. No regrets, that was tribal rivalry and they were the absolute worst cunts in the world to me.
But hating isn't free. I spent more emotional energy on hating them than I should have. It's clear that they are just people, and some of them (Scholes especially) are pretty good people.
I'm not sure where I'm going with this... it's just been a thought stirring in my mind over the past year.
It's probably hugely influenced by the fact that this forum is full of really stupid posters and we have lost the magic of actually thinking we were a better fanbase than the rest.
Mane was my favourite player in that team. And he's right, he often defended a lot more than Mo. We were a lopsided team with Salah freed of defensive responsibility half the time. The balance of personalities and qualities were almost perfect. That team deserves to be lauded more than they were, but will never fully get their respect because they won a title during Covid and lost a couple of titles to Man Cheaty by a point (because we lacked the same squad depth).
Love Sadio. So many moments to remember but my favourite one was early in the title winning season, when down 0-1 to Villa away. He had already decided "not today" and assisted Robbo brilliantly. Then in the dying seconds, scored the winner while taking a boot to the face. What a warrior he was. We were unbeatable after that.
