Maxi Rodriguez does not want to return home this year - quotes out of context - and has been told by #LFC they want him for next season.

I'd take that, the only real concern is the wages. Hopefully he can keep up the form of the last few months of the season, I'd sooner keep him than Jovanovic or Cole.

whoops good spot

If he's not leaving I'm happy. It's not like we went and bought a load of wingers and he has his moments.

Considering he spent about 4 months outside looking in and then played his way into the team and scored goals... if only Babel had done something similar!!

The assertion that we must buy a designated left winger is erroneous IMO, we just need to get some good attacking footballers in who can pass and score goals, pace would be a big bonus as we lacked that last year.

I notice that the lad Zappata we've been linked with has pretty awesome pass completion stats by the way...

Saying we've got shitloads of deadwood is probably true but if like Maxi did at the ned of last season they can actually do a job for the team then maybe we should trust them a bit and buy in some real quality to supplement them as ooposed to dull replacements.

I've noticed that bolded bit being said once or twice on here lately, and I don't agree with it. It wouldn't have to be a left winger but IMO we DO need a specialist wide player (or two). Not all midfielders or attackers are interchangeable.

I dont agree Jules, an attacking player who can deliver a cross fair enough if we are going to get the most of Carrol but it doesn't have to be an out and out wide player. For my money what we are really lacking is pace.

Don't get me wrong though a really top winger would be very very nice .... i have my doubts looking at our supposed shopping list though.
