There was a very informative thread on this that is now locked so thought it a good time to start a new one.

2nd June
Membership is now open and light membership is £26.99 for the 2014/15 season. I’ve bought the light membership and linked it to my mates, so hopefully ready to buy tickets sat together.

18th June
Fixtures are announced at 9am.

July (tbc)
At some point in July (??) we should expect tickets to go on sale for the first half of the season.
Quoting @ILD from the previous thread:
If it's a Cat A game it starts with a members sale with an x amount of credits on their card.
The next day it's a members sale for anyone who has paid membership. This is when you will be buying.
If it's a CAT B game all members have equal chance on the same morning.

Question: Am I right in assuming day 1 is Cat A for members with x credits, and day 2 is Cat A & B for all members (or does Cat B go on sale for all members on day 1 as well?)

After this, there is a General sale and Late Availability sale for anyone, but chances not great for getting tickets.

Members sale for the second half of the season happens in November.

Any and all tips and recommendations are most welcome.

There are arguments on both sides though. We [as fans] complain about the club needing to compete financially but then complain at the cost of merchandise, the frequency of merchandise changing, cost of tickets, cost of membership etc. And then some [only a few I think] even complain about the types of companies we set up sponsorship deals with.

How are we expecting the club to make money if it doesn't do this and isn't getting [until this season] sufficient revenues from PL position, Europe etc..

In a way it is giving the average member a better chance of getting a ticket as it stops members buying 4 tickets on 1 card which they would then flog on to other fans.

but then you trade atmosphere for corporate profiteering if you aren't careful. There has to be a balance of not taking the piss

This isn't about trading atmosphere for corporate profiteering - they aren't putting corporate boxes at the top of The Kop. They are charging for membership to buy tickets..

you price drunk loud kids out of it though

I think that happened a long time ago and is a separate issue with large swathes of The Kop (and Anfield in general) occupied by those who were young'uns during the glory days screaming and shouting (on a terrace, which gives its own atmosphere benefits) but are now just fans who enjoy watching the team. Not saying there is any harm in this - but it is clearly much more of an issue with regards the apparent loss of atmosphere (of which there are 100s of greater generational issues) than rising ticket prices.

I'd say it's a bit of both. A lot of people can't afford to go to many games

I've no major problems with the membership scheme as a whole. Fair enough it might seem steep if you only go to one game but it's worth the 22 odd pound if you intend on going to a good few games. I much rather having the ticket on my card than hanging around the ground at the whimsy of a tout who you'll also pay a premium to. At least the club will give you some tat back for the £22 you give them. It might only be a crap pen or a dvd but why line a tout's pocket for a one off game? I hate touts btw.

I will be getting the membership anyway and link up my card with family and friends.

Aye. I'm probably more pissed off cos my mates are tight bastards and it'll be hard to get them to sign up

I hear you. It's handy for me and Aidan. We'll both be getting membership and go to the same games. Handy to have someone to travel with and go on the piss with.

As if the good people of SCM didn't already think we were banging each other.

What are the main differences between membership and the old fan card? I still have a fan card is that now redundant?

Perhaps you can activate your membership onto the old fancard mate but you definitely need membership for each season to purchase a ticket in the 'members' sale.

Like you aren't permanently attached to each other. I'm sure that you're actually conjoined twins who've found a cunning way to hide the join.

Need to get this shite sorted tomorrow. I've got 10 credits on my card from last season but i think those with 13 get first crack at the sale then it's free for all.

Gonna be a fucking nightmare I reckon. All the bandwagon jumpers out in force.

It's an amazing feat of salesmanship.

Can you imagine walking into a pub, & being asked for a tenner from the barman, who then told you that the cash just means you might, if you're lucky, be able to buy a pint, full price, if there's any left after he's served everyone else who's in the pub, but there probably won't been any beer left, so he'll take your £4 for the beer anyway & then give you a tonic water.

We're all fucking mugs.

But if pints were as hard to come by as tickets seem to be now we'd prob accept the situation.

10 credits is close Gary. You should have bought 3 more games and farmed out the card if you couldn't attend yourself.

Don't despair, some games will prob start at 13 games and then drop to 7-10 games so some loyalty is rewarded at least.

Do you reckon all the Cat A & B games will sell out before they go to All Members? Seems mad that Leicester aren't category C, and only three matches are.
