A new thread for the powderkeg situation that's evolving each day.

Disclaimer - their may be views posted in here which cut deeply. If you are thin skinned, this isn't the thread for you, please leave quietly.

If you are offended by Dantes' abhorrent views, put him on ignore.

Thanking you.

To expand on the comment above, where possible can posters in this thread think about the impact of their thoughts and views and, at least attempt, to moderate their language and the images shared.

I will not be moderating this thread (that doesn't mean the site moderation team won't take action, they are just not around much). If you read or take part you do so freely. If you are offended, stop reading and post something about footie in the main forum 🙂

Apologies. He was already on ignore, my own fault for thinking he might post something relevant/not racist

Yes posting a dead child from an entirely different continent and saying it's related when it isn't is entirely justified. My bad

Looks like you're projecting from some remark elsewhere?

You'll need to deal with your own feelings with those involved.

I saw them grab some inmates by the testicles, and the inmates screamed and cried. The officers also pressed their batons against the genitals of some inmates. The stream of insults didn’t stop: “motherfuckers,” “sons of bitches,” “dogs,” “ISIS.” Some of the forces filmed us with cell phones and cameras. I heard the officer tell the others in Hebrew: “We’re livestreaming for Ben Gvir.”

Does Middle East include Bangladesh and mayhem over there ?

Iran executed 29 folks yesterday, including two Afghanis ... various crimes like drugs etc ...

Iraq's parliament has started the process to change the age of marriage from 15 to 9 ... I wonder why they picked 9? It's being pushed by mostly Islamist Shiite MPs ...

Turkey is banning Instagram, many sites, VPNs etc as Erodgan chokes out his democracy. I wonder what happens when he decides to 'retire'.

Tunisia’s President sacked prime minister ... Tons of anger at President (water and electricity outages) ... The prez (Saied) was democratically elected but basically took power in 2021. Based on how he's handled business, it seems the move is to try and solidify power before October's election ... I think they were the first Arab Spring country - maybe it will kick something off here again.

Prob worth having one for each region of the world atm.

We've basically got one for middle east, America, UK, eastern Europe.

I'm starting the one for Antarctica - fucking seals are interbreeding creating a new master seal race that may be able to battle the Orcas in "Who will take over the seas once Humans disappear" rodeo.

Gazan arab calling out for the world to save them from Hamas, before trying to save them from the Jews.

Worth noting this is further evidence of just how the Arab muslim culture become so worthless and backwards, that this person believes that someone elsewhere owes him anything, and that he and his neighbors should be saved from Hamas.
It does not even cross his mind trying to save himself from tyranny.
Or thinking about what is his and his community's reposnsibility of Hamas becoming what it has become

The funniest part of it all is how he calls out to the Arabic world, as if it's not all part of the same shit culture, and not all being controlled by tyrants because the culture is horrible and the people can't combine to overcome it.

Reminds me of the discussion in the Russian thread. Lots of people will always try and justify what they, and their leaders do. Not sure we're anywhere close to being able to solve for balancing freedom of speech, with misinformation and propaganda, or if that's actually possible and desirable. But it does leave us with lots of people, who may seem otherwise rationale, who end up having awful opinions, and not having an idea that they are and unwilling to question them.

It’s not just leaders. It applies to sport too.

As the second post suggests, Israel gives the go ahead for the world food programme to provide in Gaza.
The most moral solider then taken aim at aid workers.

The accuracy of the shooting, nothing hits the doors in between the doors. Direct hits on the windows.

We continue to witness abhorrent actions by the Israelis and yet still no action.

Feels like a change of direction on Israel and full backing from the US/UK

Walkie talkies now, madness. Like a movie.

Wonder how long Iran will (officially) stay out of it.

Beepers - I think if we're honest , a very smart move on hezbollah part as I doubt theyre as easily hacked as smart phones. But why order them from mossadbeepers.com? ...

I asked my Iranian friend about this. He speaks farsi and reads their newspapers etc (his family left years ago). He thinks iran realizes an attack on Israel means that little island (forgot name) where 70% of their oil is exported from goes ... and that means no economy overnight... they cannot risk it as no air defenses there. I thought that makes sense but somehow, I doubt "common sense" works in that region 🤔

The beepers were yesterday and the walkie talkies today I think, one of them at the funeral of someone killed by the pagers.

Always nice to see some casual racism thrown in at the end, good job.

If the ordinary people had an effective voice it would work a lot better.

You're thinking of Kharg island and yes, it (and a variety of other facilities) would be pulverised probably within hours, a couple of days at the most. Nowadays because of Western sanctions the oil goes predominantly to China. but that trade is still vital to Iran. Their proxies such as Hizbollah and the Houthis in Yemen are important to them precisely because they save Iran the trouble - and the risk - of involving themselves directly in those conflicts (though they probably have advisers helping the proxies in question) and I'd be surprised if they changed tack on that now.

Walkie talkies must be harder to hack too than phones ... seems like a smart move on their part, like the beepers. They just brought then from the wrong suppliers.

How is saying the region lacks common sense anything to do with their race? Are you implying I said they lack common sense because they're Arabs and jews (and kurds etc)? Says a lot about you, not so good job.

Just to make it clearer - It's more of a sense of frustration with the Inability if leaders in that region to just de-escalate and figure how to get along ... I'm sure you can agree with that ...

(I feel that way about a growing number of political parties around the world nowadays mind you)

Apologies, I actually thought you had written religion, not region.

Israel has acted with Impunity in Gaza.
Murdering thousands.
Save the children recently criticised them for killing hundreds of newborns.
Israel now opening up offensive in Lebanon.

They'll act with impunity there also knowing full well ain't nobody gonna say anything to them.
