I think we can forget about Trump getting the prize now. Regardless of what happens next in Gaza (please God the peace holds) and how much he actually had to do with it, the shit he's going to pull in the next 12 months to keep hold of power is going to rule him out of contention next year.
The fact the prize has gone to the opposition leader in Venezuela, a country some commentators think Trump is preparing to go to war against, is, I think, no coincidence. Norway is throwing shade, and I'm totally here for it.

She is the opposition leader though, Trump has threatened the current incumbent.

I thought the point was more that she's trying to bring the incumbent down by peaceful, democratic means whereas Trump... isn't. One of them is promoting peace, therefore worthy of the prize, the other not so much.
