I don't think he's shit.

I'm sticking with him for now.

I'm not overawed but I don't think he's had much of a fair crack, at least not in his favoured position, it'd be interesting to see him and Nando together, he's not afraid to put himself about and has good hold up play.

Yeah, I'm not convinced he's much of a LWF in truth and the sad truth is he isn't as good as Riera. But I have seen some good work from Milan during his time here.

I think his decision making with the ball is good, and he has the right physicality for the league. He just needs to get himself involved more often. He's worth trying up front, because N'gog isn't offering much up there at present.

I know 🙂

Jova could probably be a decent player for a smaller club not expected to be in possession and dictate play but never Liverpool - well at least not from my perspective.

He scored a good goal midweek and hopefully he can build on that performance but the fact remains he's far to reliant on his pace in my opinion. Almost his every first touch is made trying to get him on the run which of course can come in handy but it's also often ending in a lost ball. His technique nor skill matches his pace in that context and as such he's far often loosing possession.

I'm severely underwhelmed by him and I'd pick Babel, Pacheco, Kuyt, Cole, Aurelio, Maxi and perhaps even young talents in the likes of Eccleston and Amoo ahead of him on the wings. At least they are still learning and could be ones for the future. (In a 4-4-2 N'Gog would offer better supply to Torres even though he's not ready-made to be a starter week-in, week-out either but he can at least hold up the ball and keep possession better).

If we're lucky Jova will move on in January from a fee in the region of £2M as he's not good enough. Another freebie not worth the salary really. We've not had the best of luck with our free transfers to be honest. At all.

*Please let Cole be the exception here.

Its a little optimistic to be thinking of getting a fee for someone who signed a comparatively MASSIVE contract only a couple of months ago isnt it?

A "good deal" here looks more like him settlling for a 2-3 million pay off to join someone else on a free

That's probably a good point. I'm just thinking that when we're talking 'no more' than £2M a lot of clubs comes into contention. I wouldn't be surprised to see him of to a small Italian or German club or perhaps back to Belgium or perhaps Greece.

He is not a top-earner by any means is he?

He'll be on more than he should be.

(£10M over three years, according to the Guardian)

OUCH.

As a not totally unrelated aside...my friend sent me the leaked info on the West Ham players wages (which I imagine many, many people got) - and the scary thing was the amount that the free/low money signings were raking in comparative to some of the better players.

I wouldn't trust that info mate. I heard the source is a rapist.

Eh?

Briefly linked with Turkish side Trabzonspor today. Might have some truth in it since they're top of the league and would probably be looking to substain their title challenge.

I believe we'd probably have to release him on a free, i.e. for the buying club to take over his contract, or subsidize part of his wages, if he does move on. Can't really see too many clubs(esp those that are top leagues) that are willing or able to pay a substantial fee + 70k/wk's wage for a player of his statute.

We signed this chump for 70k a week? Whoever scouted him wants sacking. Jessus Christ. 70k a week, I wouldnt say he was worth more than a 35k contract, even on a free.

Yes, Mistadobalina. That's the figure that's been widely mentioned in the media. Besides, he pocketed a sum of signing on fee too. Unless a buyer of our club's statute comes along, its certainly not going to be a plain, simple case of negotiating transfer fees, sadly.

That's massive if true and bordering to the insane really.

Best. Agent. Ever.

Just read that Nasri's gonna be rewarded a new contract increasing his wage to £80k/wk, "placing him among the club’s highest earners". We can save a fortune once we get the wage bill sorted out.

From News of the World:

LIVERPOOL have transfer listed Serbian flop Milan Jovanovic after just six months.

The midfielder has been told by boss Roy Hodgson he is surplus to requirements
after failing to impress since his summer Bosman move from Standard Liege.

Jovanovic vowed to fight on after losing his place at the start of the season - but he now knows he is not part of Hodgson's plans.

Liverpool hope they can recoup at least £3million from his sale to cover the wages and signing-on fee he has cost since July.

Jovanovic, 29, started the season in Hodgson's line-up but swiftly fell out of favour. He has found himself in a similar position to Joe Cole as an expensive 'free' signing unable to establish himself.

But while Jovanovic has been told to leave, Cole will be given at least until the end of the season to rediscover his form.

The England midfielder has endured a nightmare start to his Anfield career but he is determined to revive his fortunes.
