Mo Salah 2025/26 Season

he should have but he probably can’t help reacting in whatever way he can to ‘fix’ the situation. saying that though every time his agent has acted a cunt it’ll have been with salahs blessing so maybe he is more measured than i assume.
An agent won’t do shit without the players blessing.

Last year Salah was on God mode, Diaz was flying and Jota was contributing. We’ve were also pretty much unbeatable.

For me, with the context of everything going on he’s doing more this year.
This has been since February.. so our arguments aren't valid

Get this fucking prick out asap. Absolute fucking bellend. Worst player in the team all season, including that absolute fucking waster Konate, gets dropped about 10 games too late, and then we have to put up with this shit? Fuck that.

I can see where he is coming from even though I don't quite agree with the approach. He has almost single-handedly carried us through these years and when we have hit a brick wall for the first time in 10 seasons, he got thrown under the bus, with all his previous achievements completely forgotten. Will you readily accept it if you are him?

And there are plenty of underperformers this season.

Old boys: Konate, VVD, Macca, Gakpo, Robbo, even Gravenberch's form seems to have fell off a cliff. Slot looks mightily clueless himself.

New boys: Frimpong, Kerkez, Isak

So why was it only him who has been made an example of?

Mo is one of the best players to ever play for Liverpool.
His dedication to his craft is unreal - on the same level imo as the likes or Ronaldo etc.
That will *always* cause friction.
It's why I was always more of a fan of Sadio.
He was the most important factor in last year's league win. No Mo, no #20. No one could replace his goals etc.
However, this year - as we saw for the last few months of last year, he has been poor.
Father time has caught up to him quickly - or perhaps a team which can no longer carry the tactics set up last year due to so many players playing well well below their level.
Whatever it is, it's been painful to watch and he has been a liability - and the benching came way too late.
With Slot's insistence on the 4-3-3, we're a better team without him.
I think we could accommodate him if the formation was changed, but it doesn't seem Slot has that flexibility.
We should move on from him - for his sake (what he did last night is clearly to make that a reality) and the team's ... and while we're on it, from Slot too (imo, he's being used to make the post Salah transition easier imo to spare the negative press Edwards, Hughes etc would get if they just sold him out of the blue in Jan).
It's been one heck of a career - 100% on everyone's top 10 list of Liverpool players, a majority of top 5 lists and a strong showing in the top 3 lists too.
Been a pleasure to watch him. Wish him luck wherever he goes next.

is it fair to use this as a stick to bash slots man management? i don’t think anyone could’ve dropped mo without this happening

Mo had a meltdown at Klopp for being benched once, was that against West Ham? "If I speak there be fire" but he didn't have the balls to slag off Kloppo.

Its ALL on Slot for me. He benches Mo but plays Isak to get him match fit, even after admitting that Ekitike should really start. Gakpo starts every game and presumably that's why Diaz was let go, which has cost us. Mo not tracking back was a ploy apparently agreed with Slot, so it is on him if it's now backfiring.

And who can blame Mo for feeling like he should start every game, given there's no real competition for RW except Szobo or Frimpong, who aren't naturals?

He does kind of have a point. Lots of players deserve to be dropped, and he has built up at least as much leeway as anyone due to what he's done in the past. But, he should never be saying this publicly, he should take it up with the manager.

No player is bigger than the club. His comments were childish and reeks of entitlement. As a senior player you look to him as a voice of calmness and show some leadership when the club is in a mess, but he makes it all about himself.
Has been a fantastic player for us but this outburst is so disappointing. It only makes the club look even worse.
That latest extension looks like a big mistake. It was the right time to move on this summer, so credit to those who saw it coming.

Sell him in January to Saudi, and move on.

Let’s be honest, he’s an absolute narcissistic bellend…so wrapped up in himself, he’s not grounded enough to 1.) understand the football club is astronomically bigger and more important than he will ever be 2.) has zero ability to self reflect, because if he did he would understand why he’s getting splinters in his arse.

He’s a gobshite who only speaks to the media when he requires something *cough* narcissism *cough* me, me, me.

I said after the touchline spat with Klopp I wanted him gone, he genuinely thinks it’s Mo Salah FC.

I don't know why it would buy him more time.

If it did, it'd be a massive indictment of Edwards etc. This is the opposite of moneyball. So you buy a bunch of players who aren't appropriately profiled. You resign one who is old, at massive cost, who athletically is in significant, obvious decline. You then don't put anything in place to manage their leaving. We are the Yankees in that situation, not the Oakland A's.

If they think slot gets more time due to this mess, then it's because it's their mess.

I don't think we are operating in the Moneyball process, though. If it were, with all the data they had access to, they would not have resigned Salah to such a huge contract.

We have been tactically humiliated regularly since March, and there has been no change. I am sure some data shows that. We also dropped a cool quarter-billion on two attackers with no clue how to use them.

I am not saying our background team is incompetent. I think there are ceilings to data-driven approaches, particularly in football, and these guys may be as good as it gets. But they oversold that.

200% it is their mess, by the way. Read all the self-congratulatory articles over the summer about how clever they were in their pursuit of Slot, how they outwitted Bayern, Madrid in their pursuit of Wirtz, cold blooded ruthlessness in their pursuits of Isak, etc etc.

The two reasons Slot still has his job are that they are tied to him and that they cannot get another "head coach" to sign.

You know things are bad when even Hansern is pessimistic 🙂

Welcome back 🙂

It looks worse for Salah than the club. Demanding to be picked when you're shite. Losing it after 2.5 games on the bench. I want Slot gone but how could any coach work with that pressure from this fucking child?

All Slot needs to do is coach the team to put in a competent display and win against atleast lower-level PL opposition without Salah. But he is not capable of that with this squad. Salah knows that. Hence his outburst.

What?! Like fuck Gravenberch's form has fallen off a cliff! Where on earth did you pull that one from !

That 'leeway' has been blown on this poor run though. He is a big part of that terrible form and deserved to be dropped. Everyone bar the Salah apologists were saying it from SCM to the media.

I'm not saying he doesn't, I'm saying I can see why he thinks he has credit in the bank, and he's angry when Gakpo, Konate etc seem to be getting away with it, with far less credit in the bank.

I'll be sad when he goes, especially with how it's ended, but an ego like that can only be tolerated when he's leading a team to silverware. Sell him for what he can and move on. We'll remember him for the legend he was when the dust settles.

Salahs mind needs to rejoin reality.

Not having the petulant child act at all, this has to be a background interest/agent driven thing surely. Although Slot dropping Salah without explanation seems somehow believable on some "he's totally not a weird asshole, he's just Dutch, they're like that" bullshit

What a load of fucking gash.

Every great narcissist always struggle to leave on right terms such as Ronaldo, Messi and Keane. It’s part of their greatness. Pity but hopefully can get a good send off if he does leave in Jan.
