Mo Salah 2025/26 Season

I don't think Gravy has been as good this year but everyone around him has been giving the ball away, the centre backs can't defend anymore, the fullbacks don't play two consecutive games and our forwards just run into defenders. So hes probably facing a lot greater volume of attacks.

Jones didn’t do his job on their second but seems to be taking lots of plaudits though. I thought he was crap.

Jones should have nailed down a place by this point in his career. He can still look very good but hes just not consistent enough.

Personally, i think he (Jones) is doing well for us through this awful period - when he's trusted.

With Mac being physically terrible this year, i feel we've really benefitted from his extra physicality.

He'd be one of my 1st names on the sheet currently

Gakpo has been better this year if you ask a certain resident dunce. Alisson, Robertson and Bradley too.

Why are we talking about Gravy and Jones? Mo’s been worst than both of them this season. At least Gravy and Jones work.

Also what’s this nonsense about primary jobs and secondary jobs? If Mo was doing any job, he wouldn’t be in this mess of his own making
Because as Mo has already mentioned already to great fury, he didn't play and set piece defending has been rubbish mostly. It's a Team game, not on a single player. If it was down to one player, we wouldn't have concended 17 goals in 5 games or whatever as we have done.

(I think) we all give Mo primary credit for last year - without him we don't win the league - surely he also takes a huge amount of the blame when shit's hitting the fan?

Of course it's a team game though but when one of the best on the team - you always get given more attention, and that can't always be positive.

Spot on, it is a team game.

Mo doesn’t seem to get it though. Otherwise he wouldn’t have said anything

I don't think was disagreeing, point was I think we ended up discussion about a Team game and primarily defending as a Team. Which isn't clearly happening regardless of multiple players. That isn't just on a single player. We can try but at somepoint which is going to be very soon, we need to start find solutions to current issues.

We need Arsenal's version of a throw in coach for defending set pieces and maybe defending in general.
Doable? 🙂

We've conceded 10 goals from set pieces. Only Forest have conceded more in the league. Its unacceptable and poor coaching.
That said I find it unfair to criticize Slot in regards to all the mistakes our players are making.

In regards to Salah. According to The Athletic he spent a lot of time on Sunday talking to his agent. MLS and Saudi clubs are interested. I'd sell and move on. Sign Semenyo and play him in his favored position at right wing.
Hopefully we'll get most of the 65 mill from the Salah sale.

After digesting a lot of what has been said and written post Salah's 'interview' I think this is bigger than Salah and/or Slot this is a problem for Liverpool FC and it's reputation and as such needs to be resolved quickly before other players feel they can air their views publicly seemingly without consequence.

This needs to be handled by the executives who ultimately hire and fire. First thing I'd do is look to see if Salah has broken the terms of his contract regarding media matters, followed swiftly by advising Salah and his agent that they have instructed Slot not to involve Salah in squad matters until the situation is resolved at a meeting where grievances can be raised and addressed.

In this way we back the coach and reduce the pressure on his decision making, quickly kill any player thoughts of using the same tactics, and ensure that everyone knows that the club is in charge.

Later on down the line when the heat is off you can sell the player/fire the coach/whatever but you must make sure the club is in charge now and always and seen to be.
