Same format as Hardcastle's thread.
It's pretty much clear who'll get the most votes. Just want to see how many of you would rather have the Frenchman.

The prices mentioned are probably, no definitely wrong but considering that N'Zogbia only has a year left in his contract, he'll be a lot less expensive than Downing.

Downing isn't that bad but I think Nzogbia is a bargain for circa £10m.

Certainly too good a value for a club in our position to turn down, given the alternatives being mooted in the press.

Tough one but I'd prefer N'Zogbia myself. More explosive, quicker and unpredictable. Really rate him.

Downing is probably the more assured and composed and i'd still be relatively happy if we signed him as we're crying out for an out and out winger - he is one.

I want both of them.... but at the same time neither of them.

If the prices are "probably, no definitely wrong" then why bother including them? Doesn't it make this thread rather misleading?

Haha... I was referring to the quoted prices mentioned in the press. But like I said N'Zogbia will be less expensive.

Shut up and get back to photocopying your fanzine.

Villa are reported to have had a £9.5M bid accepted for N'Zogbia and he is now free to discuss personal terms

villa bummed us well harder than i bummed my dog when we signed downing.

Downing "£18-20 Million", 27 years old
N'Zogbia "£10-12 Million", 25 years old, acts like a 2 year old.

Downing "£18-20 Million", 27 years old, team player, works hard for the team and is a winger who creates chances from both sides who also scores
N'Zogbia "£10-12 Million", 25 years old, acts like a 2 year old, selfish cunt who cuts in trying to score most of the time from both sides

We've been making some poor signing decision alright.... Cazorla went to malaga for 18m.... ten times the player....

Don't rate either of Nzogbia or Downing so if i was forced to vote i would vote N'zogbia for beig 5M cheaper.

Yep, a small Spaniard whose only ever played in La Liga who was being courted by the new Man City of Spanish Football with recent severe injury problems; perfectly okay risk according to you considering the necessity to get value for our investments this summer? Can you please try and wait to see how Downing performs in a Liverpool shirt before you continue to attack a Liverpool player. Honestly how much of Downing did you watch in a Villa shirt?

Good post that

For the stattos:

http://www.itv.com/sport/football/news/opta-the-value-of-charles-nzogbia-98374/

N’Zogbia scored nine goals in a Wigan team that battled relegation up until the last match of the previous season. When you compare the Frenchman to the likes of Downing and Young, it is easy to see why McLeish rates him so highly.

In the Premier League last season, N’Zogbia had a pass completion rate of 78%; the same as Downing but higher than Young. He has a better shooting accuracy and goals-to-shots ratio than both former Villa players.

Astonishingly, N’Zogbia attempted 301 dribbles in the Premier League last season, meaning that when looking at players from the PL, Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1, only Lionel Messi attempted more in 2010/11 (331).

Stats favour Nzogbia. Well so does age, price and ability as well but hey, he's a cunt so we shouldnt sign him.

Seriously Modo, how many times have you watched him play? Whats his style of play? How will he improve Liverpool Football Club?

If he's such a bargain, why aren't Arsenal, Chelsea, Utd, City and Tottenham all over him?
Maybe, just maybe, Dalglish thinks he's not good enough or hasn't the right mentality.

Oh woe me, we're fucking shit at buying players, shit and wank, shitty wank. I'm depressed we're so shit.

I'd be so much better at buying players than the King. Look at all these bargains I have found, I'll just shove them in the team that should work.
