My exact thought when i read this on twitter was, 'thank fuck we wont be signing Bridge.'
 
Does the fact we've only signed Henderson and the window for transfers outside of the UK hasn't opened yet mean we're mostly interested in foreign players then?

Young and foreign - lower cost, longevity and high resale. Is that it?

yea that^^ is the current inactivity due to the fact most of our first choice targets are now foreign? except for charlie adam who has dragged on forever because of the chairman

Our fellow forumite Markeh. I was simply elucidating for the benefit of kj and other non-Scousers. ;D
 
This idea that we cant sign players until the 1st July isnt right though surely?
We can sign them and have the deal agreed but it cant be ratified by Uefa until the 1st right?
Man Utd have signed De Gea now so he can report on Friday for firs day of training.

With that in mind im dissapointed that our full squad wont be assembled for the first day of training.
We should have done our business already (yes im impatient) rather than drag our heels.

Maybe we're playing it super safe over the targets though? If we have a deal agreed in advance for a player isn't there still a chance that another club can jump in and try to tempt him elsewhere? That's the thought I'm holding on to anyway, come July 1st it'll be raining sexy big name transfers - Mata etc

Aren't most teams back in for pre-season like next Monday?

Hoping for a flurry of activity over the weekend. Patience is a virtue and transfers are rarely straight-forward but it was widely reported Kenny wanted most, if not all players signed in time for the start of pre-season.
 
Well, with mata, aguero etc all busy it doesn't surprise me we're waiting a lil bit longer
