what does he mean by "sub-top"?

Shite?
[/quote]

Yea he just found a new way of saying it.

Everton player aside - What a twat, I don't even think he's that good. Concentrate on your game, stand out a bit more and champions league clubs will bid for you, theres no need to pimp and moan you fluffed haired inbred.

Nah, he means "decent but not CL decent". We've all known he was a cnut for ages. Now the bitters will know it too.

Fellani wants out?

Fellaini keen to move on from Everton
June 18, 2011

Everton's Marouane Fellaini has insisted that he will move on in search of Champions League football, claiming the club are not at the right level for him.

Fellaini, 23, cost Everton £15 million three years ago and has attracted the attention of Europe's elite with his performances for the Toffees, as Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid have all been linked. An ankle injury ruined his prospects last season, but the Belgium international is adamant that he can do better than his current surroundings.

"One thing is certain, I want to play in a team that wins trophies and play in the Champions League,'' he told Belgian media. ''Everton is a team of sub-top."

The midfielder has a contract which expires in 2013, although talks have broken down over a possible extension.

Tell you what we need to sort our own shit out and fucking soon.

Anderlecht have confirmed for the first time they and Chelsea are in discussions over the striker Romelu Lukaku moving to Stamford Bridge. The transfer could involve Kevin De Bruyne joining the Brussels club on loan, with the midfielder admitting he was keen to leave Genk for Chelsea and be farmed back out to his native Belgium.

Lukaku, 18, has long been linked with Chelsea, a club he has admitted supporting. Rumours have been rife that the Anderlecht general manager, Herman van Holsbeeck, had visited London to thrash out a deal with the Premier League club. He has now confirmed that he has been in talks with them, in addition to other clubs, amid reports that Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham are also interested in the teenager.

Van Holsbeeck told Sky Sports: "There is still a long way to go in the negotiations. We are indeed negotiating with Chelsea, but there are other clubs we are talking to."

Van Holsbeeck refused to put a timescale on any deal, saying: "It could happen in the next half hour, it could take until August 31 – that is football."

Lukaku's Belgium team-mate De Bruyne could be used as a makeweight in any deal, with the 19-year-old midfielder revealing that would be acceptable to him were he to sign for Chelsea.

"I have had time to think about my future and I would love to join Chelsea, but the important thing next season is that I play," he said. "With Chelsea, there is not that guarantee, but there would be at Anderlecht and they would be an ideal springboard for me.

"I know Genk are in the Champions League but they must get through two rounds, anyway, and if I can improve sporting wise and obviously financially, then I hope Genk will not put any obstacles in my way."

Opps. That was fast. It was actually a "Denilson: Crap footballing machine for sale." auction. 😛

So it looks like Utd who are supposedly skint are going to be spending the guts of £50 million on Jones, Young and De Gea.
That makes sense.

City (as in stocks, not Manc) rumours are that the Glaziers have received a 'downpayment' from the sheiks.

Smells like BS to me for shitloads of reasons, but thought I'd put it out there.

Quite, makes you wonder why no one is going mental that they've spent the bulk of £40m on a largely unproven Premiership youngster and an unproven young Spanish goalie. Oh.

Time will tell, Mark.

In any event, our unproven youngster cost 4 million more than theirs; more importantly their unproven youngster was to fill in a position of far greater need.

We're not exactly lacking in the midfielder department.

As for De Gea, unproven in the Premiership is one thing, looking a top prospect in his own team is another. He might make the grade here, he might not. Just as another 'Premiership proven' player might do the same.

Yeah, but they have a habit of wasting money and still winning the league. It goes a long way in terms of getting some slack.

Anyways, which poster spent the last 12 months telling us Utd would spend fuck all this summer? Was it Ross?

Yeah I'm as confused as you

Henderson reputedly cost 20 million and Young cost 16 million, depending on what sources are to be believed; which is the analogu Mark is making.

That in itself isnt important; buying potentially good prospects is always going to be expensive.

But they needed a CB prospect more than we needed a CM prospect.

Young is not an unproven Premiership youngster given that he's like 26 and fairly proven.

Mark was talking about Jones.

Sorry, I meant Phil Jones.

Don;t know why that came out as Young, but I think I made the mistake because Young also cost 16 or 20 million depending on who you believe.

Wasn't phil jones 22+ with add ons?

Why are people dismantling the Henderson deal by using the jones deal? We needed a right mid? If kuyt was to be moved up top who do we have at rm?

The Jones fee depends on who you ask.

16 million, 20 million, 22 with add-ons...

As for Henderson, that would depend on whether you think he's been bought to play at RM.

The only person on this place who keeps banging on about his best place being at RM is Judge Jules; I guess we'll soon see whether that's correct.

I think that's where the confusion lies. He was played as a CM last season - which basically prompted our interest in him - so it raised questions as to where and when he'd play. Since then it's kinda emerged that we've earmarked him more for the right midfield role, which is where he started out.

I guess we won't know what the long-term plans for him are until we start to see things unfold.

Even if it's midfield, he's better in an advanced position, where his competition is (if jonjo goes on loan?) gerrard or aqua/ming. Lot of injury problems there.

According to Sunderland fans he plays best on the right but has good composure on the ball which is why he settled in well in the middle, time will tell I guess but I'm surmising that his versatility is a big factor.

That isn't what I've been saying. I've been quoting the views of some Mackem fans to that effect and speculating that, considering also that he started his career there, he may have been earmarked for that role with us.

If he hasn't, I'm not convinced Downing alone will be enough to address the shortfall in that position as well as on the left.

I know, Jules..the question is whether he's been bought for RM though.

I suspect he may fill in thewre, but that he's viewed as a long term CM.

Which is fine, once the plethora of midfielders already at the club have been disposed of.

Seems as though Wenger is close to signing Craig Gordon. According to some Arsenal sites talks aee advanced. Strange move.
