Watching the Sunderland game again there was a lot of talk of how nervous the team was in getting over the line. Whilst watching the game live that is the impression I got, however, in actual fact on second viewing the players were calm ( although we made a few mistakes ) and purposeful and it was my anxiety imprinted . The atmosphere at the beginning of the Tottenham game was spinetingling even through the tv and it seemed to affect the Spurs players who started the game very slowly. Again a strong purposeful well drilled performance from us, but again no panic under pressure, no nerves.
Of course the players are confident, playing well and are executing the managers tactics perfectly. However on a second more dispassionate viewing they seem to be playing without fear. Is this where Dr Steve Peters comes in? If he is not the missing link he must be part of it, we have been on an upward tradjectory since he became available to us at the beginning of last year. Now he has been hired by Hodgepodge is it time to tie him to some sort of exclusivity deal so other teams cannot benefit from his influence?
