Pep Segura has left his post as Liverpool FC reserves coach, says Tony Barrett of The Times.
Segura looked all set for a promotion this season, but after Mike Marsh was given the role of first team coach he was forced to continue in his role as second string boss.
Barrett believes this to be the reason behind his surprise departure, which will leaving a gaping hole in the Reds’ reserve set-up.

This doesn't make much sense. Marsh and Segura were surely not competing for the same role. I'm thrilled for Marsh, because he makes Carragher seem a fair weather fan, and he knows his stuff, but Segura has been a good technical adviser and I don't see why he couldn't have been given even greater powers within his existing sphere of influence.

Exactly right. I agree with Hansern: It's a bit of a shame he left, as stability is good. Anyway, onward and upward.
Sorry to sound like an ignorant spaz again... but how is the academy showing anything? I'd have thought spending millions on utter shit made that clear? What have I missed?
Rafa commenced changes modelled on the barca system (& stealing half their staff) about 4 years ago. The youth system since then had gotten better in terms of style, results & players brought in, however many of them are still young.
I'm sure we had a 3/4 year period where the only player to come through properly was that defender we sold to Blackburn whose name escapes me.
I have to agree. Might seem like it's not something to be bothered about but it's a big blow for the club and the Academy especially.
If the story about him not getting a promotion is true then I guess he was gonna leave the Academy director job anyway, but whoever replaces him has some big boots to fill.
Segura has according to what I've heard done a terrific job and was highly rated by Rafa.
I hope this doesn't mean that we'll lose Borell.

I think I'll be able to make it through fucking Pep, and probably manage to pull off 'princess fucking' Anne (the poor lass won't be able to walk in the morning), but I'm going to need a handful of viagra if I'm going to fuck my way through more than one alpaca.
